I feel like a constant Johnson apologist!

However, you've all missed something pretty important.

He's just back from some mystery illness/injury/injuries/mental issue (we don't know what it is, I guess a combination of small niggles & a subsequent mental issue brought on by them), has played two brilliant games back to back, & 4 day later plays again.

So he looks fucked. He probably is. It takes Lucas about 6 months to get to form once he's been out yet for the first 6 weeks people make apologies for him.

Cos Johnson hasn't had an injury that we can see we've all just taken for granted he's back to full form & fitness.

That's not fair, even 'match fitness' takes most players a while, this lad fell straight into world class form two games on the bounce without an adjustment period at 30 years old.

Let's take a step back & try to be fair, eh?

How do you feel about Martin Kelly?

Honest answer, I don't actually know.

He's naturally a centre back so I'd like to see him there in a cup run before judging him, but I'm not sure I'll get the chance.

At full back he's impressed me at some times, but other times he positional sense, or lack of, has infuriated me, it's hard to say definitively cos I don't feel like he's had a long enough spell in the side to see.

Whenever he seems to be progressing he gets injured like clockwork

He's been unlucky but I can't see him making it now

[article=http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-pay-portsmouth-1m-6903379]Liverpool FC will have to pay Portsmouth around £1m if they win the Premier League title - because of a clause in Glen Johnson's contract.

The England full-back sealed a £17.5m move from the south coast club to Anfield in the summer of 2009.

And nearly five years on Pompey could be in line for more money from the deal if the Reds hold onto their lead in the championship race.

Portsmouth are near the bottom of League Two and said to be struggling financially so a £1m windfall at the end of the season would be a major boost.

Liverpool are two points clear at the top of the table with six games remaining.Should Brendan Rodgers' side win of all their remaining fixtures then they will clinch the title and trigger the clause in Johnson's contract.[/article]
