He has a level of self awareness on par with a toddler. He really is a selfish prick, but that's been obvious for some time. I figured he would leave this summer, I wanted him to after the bite, but I expected him to be more honourable about it. Instead he's decided to play the martyr and hide behind bullshit excuses, but then he always does that so we shouldn't be surprised.

Even if they have good intentions , they've most likely bitten off more then they can chew . They obviously didn't have a fucking clue when they first came in and hoped they could let others (comolli etc) run it for them . That worked really well didn't it .

Ditto. Would love to see him stay and help to guide this club to CL qualification and honors but no point keeping a half-hearted player. If he indeed wants to go, then hopefully we will get things sorted out early so that there will be time to reinvest the money. I wouldn't mind Modric as part of the deal too.
I don't want him to leave, however that said I've also been pleasantly surprised at how we have coped without him in this second half of the season when the need has arisen. We aren't a one man team by any stretch of the imagination.
If we are given all of any transfer fees received (less tax and agent's fees) plus the reputed 20M then we'll have maybe 70M to spend this Summer and that should bring us 3-4 damn good players strengthening the team far more than the loss of Suarez would deplete us.

I'd normally agree but we're not exactly pulling up trees or antyhing "big" these days . He , potentially Reina and others have left in recent yr because of our position but we haven't proved any of them wrong and kicked on by using the money correctly .

Losing Suarez now may also cause other issues - players like Reina etc may not feel it's worth putting in another year or two, and players looking in who wanted in may think we lack ambition .. I mean Kolo Toure and Celta Suarez clone aren't exactly 'names'.

Reina's at an age where he's given us his best and "might" be looking to move on, you can't use it as a stick to beat Rodgers with given he's only had a season under his belt and has had us playing quite well, and you can't exactly level it at the owners given they've backed us well financially (even though Kenny spent poorly). Players have been leaving us for donkey's years - Rafa lost Owen and pretty much forced Alonso out, Mascherano and Torres walked out the club because of Rafa's departure (Rafa who left us in 7th place), so let's lose this pretense that we've suddenly started losing players because we're 7th, it's just hyperbole to feed your obvious agenda against he manager. It's been happening for years and it's nothing new because of our current predicament, the Reina point is only theoretical anyway yet you're acting like it's happened.
