Madrid get Real over Suarez swoop

Suarez is part of a core I want though. I'd happily sell all or any of Lucas, Agger, Skrtel and Pepe.

I'd sell Suarez only if my hand were forced, and if so, I'd try and milk every bit of transfer fee we could get for him.

When I went to watch us vs spurs this season me and my mate were in the park before kick off as you do, everyone was singing then we sung the Suarez song and the whole place erupted little kids on their dads shoulders everything mental I've never seen anything like it, I turned to my mate who is a massive red but not Suarez' number one fan and he had goosebumps a little tear in his eye and told me I think I love Suarez now. What I'm getting at is how can he give it up just like that? It was the same with Torres. I wish Suarez would walk in to the park when everyone is singing and see how much he's loved. He'd be amazed I think. He won't get it at Madrid. Sorry if this is off topic or wrong thread as well just frustrated by it all.

I saw something like that, outside the ground once with a few people after the match waiting for the players to come out. first it was the likes of lucas, bit of cheering, then carra and stevie, people were kinda happy to see him i guess, then suddenly the sky turned dark, clouds massed together above us and there was an electric current in the air. We all knew who was coming. Suddenly the wind picks up, ciggie ends and pie tins start swirling in the air and the wind began to make a kind of low, murmuring sound, except it wasnt the wind, i looked round and people were just stood there in the gloom slowly chanting, quietly at first but it began to pick up, i turned to look at my mate to ask him what the hell was going on but i was shocked to realise that he'd then and there whipped his cock out, i was shocked, i looked around for answers but to my horror everyone was doing it, the chanting increased as people began a flurry of masturbatory worship and it was only then that i noticed i was doing exactly the same. Then it happened. Suarez stepped out of the club doors as strings of confetti like semen arched through the air. People were screaming now, wailing with glee. Some everton fans that were walking past began to cry and vomit, hunched over in pain as our new god started to float above our heads, his glorious teeth reflecting what little light was there and making it into a beacon of hope. By the time he got into his car and left i was spent, 3 women gave birth in the crowd that day, 2 evertonian fans spontaneously combusted and my mate who is a massive red but not Suarez' number one fan said he had goosebumps and a little tear in his eye and told me I think I love Suarez now

If the offers were good enough I'd easily sell lucas, Henderson, allen, enrique, skrtel, downing and Reina. I don't rate our midfield at all. Average players that won't get us top 4. Don't want to sell suarez at all. One of the few match winners in our team. But if I've no choice then bidding starts at 55 million.

I'm pretty sure he knows how the great majority of Reds feel about him. Had that not been the case he might well have been off last summer.

Imagine keeping hold of a disaffected Suarez. The happy one is more than enough trouble. The disaffected one will be bloody unbearable.

He would still give his all on the pitch, he doesn't know how to play any other way.

I'd like Judge Jules' response to this one

Why? I've never wanted any disaffected player to stay, nor agreed with others on here who argue we should make such players do so. I'd prefer to resolve Suarez' disaffection and keep him, but if it can't be resolved we'd be better off taking the money as long as we use it sensibly.

2 out of that core mentioned could be gone though. Reina could move but Skrtel will almost certainly leave.
Identifying a new core is a very good idea and its what Rodgers is doing at the moment.
I'd keep Agger though and Lucas aswell as a back up.

Keeping Suarez is what I want obvs, but if he wants the move then we're better of with money to spend.

I love Suarez, but I'd be inclined to take the money. It's unlikely we'll get a chance to get £50m for him gain and we can do a lot of damage with £50m. I'm confident that the Transfer Committee (I like to refer to them as 'The Commission') is the way forward. If we can get 4 players the standard of Coutinho & Sturridge, we'd be fighting for the title, let alone Top 4.

There's also the potential that he'd get a better record than last season, raising his price even more.
With his talent it's possible.

I've said previously that 50M will get me to the table. Nothing less. I love Suarez and would prefer him at the club. However, if his head has been turned and he wishes to leave, it will be for nothing less than top dollar.

We are in the driving seat and he still has another 3 years on his contract. We should take the hard line. No swap + cash. CASH ONLY

I think he could do something similar here next season - I don't think he'd do even better.

I think he'll do worse at Madrid though. Both him and Ronaldo need lots of the ball and plenty of shots to get their goals. They'll either need to start playing with two balls or one of the two will suffer.

Yeah, its similar to Barca buying Neymar actually.
Both teams would be better with another type of forward/striker.

If he wants to go then fine, on our terms. We bought Torres and Suarez for 23 million each so if spent wisely can work.

I'm surprised Bayern aren't wading in. He'd be great for them and they can afford it.

Yeah he is come to think of it. Ok then how about Monaco? No CL (but that doesn't bother him apparently) they can afford him and he would smash the French league for sure.

They don't need him, they are by some distance the best team in Europe and just bought 2 top quality players from Dortmund for reasonable fees. Bayern rarely buy players with his profile anyway.

if there is going to be a bidding war the alternative will most likely have to be a French club. None of the Italian clubs could afford him and Barca have already made their marquee signing. City could afford him but even Suarez couldn't be dumb enough to claim he is being hounded out by the British press and then join another English team.

the thing is I can still see this ending in a disaster with Madrid walking away because we hold firm on the price and us being stuck with a player who no longer wants to be at the club who has burned his bridges with the fans and management.

I don't think that's an issue, TBH, nor is it something we should be fearful of. Suarez may want to move, but he's not the sort of character to let it affect his desire and determination to win on a Satuday afternoon.

It's not Liverpool's fault if Madrid refuse to pay his market value, which has to stand between £42-50M, and I'd be surprised if they offered that.

Burns his bridges with the fans? Thanks for speaking for the whole clientele who walk through Anfield's doors. How do you know he has burnt his bridges with management? Who has said anything?

Be such a shame if we keep a world class player at the club because the buying team tries to rape us (again) and this time we actually tell them to fuck off. We hold the cards, not fucking Real Madrid.

He hasn't said he's gong to Madrid. The club have said he's not for sale and yet every article in papers or any other media, twists it to say the complete opposite.

I'd be delighted if we keep him. He's world class and others of not to dissimilar quality will come if he remains, IMO. That's how we improve as a team and a club.

If he goes, we should get top dollar for him and that £50m at fucking least. Not the usual derisory bollocks that may be filtering through from Madrid.

And one thing most people have forgotten, Perez, the president is up for re-election so I wonder ow much of the shite coming out of that club is his manifesto for re-election.

If Madrid want him they will offer whatever the release clause amount is and we will end up accepting it.

According to the Guardian there is a £40M clause which triggers negotiations to begin. There isn't a clause which we're forced to accept.
