Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

Go on, someone make excuses for him.

Please.

What excuses need to be made? He's not doing anything wrong, he is an incredibly dedicated sellsword, who is a bit mental on the pitch. His wrongs certainly aren't occuring now.

The confirmation that he's a cunt isn't that he wants to leave a team where he was the best player by miles, that doesn't seem to have any short term chance of great success, for one that will pay him more, it's the fact that there isn't a bidding war for him. If he had only bitten someone that one time, we'd have clubs fighting over him, and he might already be gone. As I stated, I'd be shocked if he was still here at the end of the window, the question is whether we can win the game of chicken and get adequate replacements in with a limited amount of time without being reamed. We didn't do so well with this last time.

That you're a moron.
Happy days, insults on my birthday, classy as ever Ryan,

I still want him here next season and if Rodgers told him that he would personally let him leave if we didn't make the CL and got a bid of 40m then I can at least see why he feels let down.

Our greatest ever player came within minutes of joining f*cking Chelsea's rent boys and that was after we had won the CL.

A little hint of double standards.

Happy birthday then you moron. 😉

You don't feel even the slightest bit let down by someone who (a) the club defended to the hilt after he bit one man and racially abused another, (b) has pleaded all summer long for a move somewhere else but hasn't had the balls to hand in a transfer request because he'd have to forego some money, and (c) has claimed he needs to get away from the "hounding" British press only to end up wanting to move to fucking LONDON?

You're prepared to excuse/ignore all of that?

Ha thanks you prick (granted I reckon you'd be alright in person)

I do feel somewhat let down but at the end of the day looking at the cold hard facts of where are as a club I can see why he wants out.

He came to England as a stepping stone to CL football and a move to an elite team (sadly we haven't been 1 for 4 years now.

He wanted to leave last year to a big club with CL football but stayed under the promise of the new manager saying we would challenge top 4 and if we didn't make it he could leave.

As for the 40m release clause, while yes we hold all the cards legally speaking, I can see why Suarez thought he could leave for 40m and why he is upset now that what he thought was the agreement is in fact bullshit (especially if he was given promises by Rodgers)

He didn't just stay and play last year, he was without doubt our head and shoulders above the rest stand out player, not just in performance but in mentality on the pitch, his workrate and ability to single handedly beat numerous teams.

If we had 11 players each week last season with his commitment and attitude we'd have coasted into the top 4.

We didn't make the top 4 and now he wants out, to get CL football and probably a pay rise.

So no I don't blame him at all from what I've read so far.

In a perfect world he would see the loyalty we have shown and stick with us and love the city, club and fans like Carra, Fowler etc but when you consider our greatest ever player and current captain (who at least appears smarter than Suarez) was within a whisker of joing the cnut of a club Chelsea.

Unfortunately it isn't a perfect world and while I want him to stay I can see why he wants out and why he is going about it this way as it looks liked he was lied too (even if he was stupid enough to take Rodgers word for it)

Dreamy - do you ever think "why am I the only person who thinks like this?"

Not one other person on this forum is making excuses for him. Not even Mark for fucks sake.

Well that leaves us screwed.

1. Insist on a written transfer request, there is no way on gods green earth that he should receive any financially loyalty payment. We should state this in the press.
2. Get on the blower to every single champions, league club outside of these shores. 30M from Real is preferable to 40M from Arsenal. In honesty I would prefer we sold him to a team we have absolutely no chance of catching...
3. Sort our fucking shit out financially once and for all... Sick of this shit.... Death of a thousand cuts.

Two points from me.

Firstly surely after years of scrimping arsenal are not going to spend £50 million on a bloke banned for a month and with his record

Secondly it hurts like fuck to hear him say " a top European club" and mean not us. How depressing to think going to Arsenal is up.

We have to get back in CL league season of else of happens again.

That's the one strange thing for me too; I just cannot see arsenal spending 50M+ on anyone.

Also, he's worth much more than 50 fucking million, if Bale is worth 100. If we let him go to the Arse for 50 million we're gonna look like a band of dickheads. Again.

This has been done to death, Bales value has no bearing on Suarez, they are two independent deals. Why not compare his value to Higuain, or Rooney, or any other player, what has it got to do with Bale specifically?

Instead of going for a cash deal ( on the cheap) in an inflated market we should try and do a swapsy with a team who has players we want. Do it quick.

I knew my morning coffee was not going to be as anjoyable as usual once I saw this thread had jumped from 100 to 107 pages. SEE I told you once we hit 100 then this would all blow up and posters like Leo and Silver Sean gleefully and wilfully made spurious posts to get us here - it's all your fault ! *points finger*.

If we get 50m plus from whoever then he's gone, though I'd certainly not want him sold to another PL team. However if it is eventually Arsenal - then I just want them to crash and burn in the CL and us to finish above them in the PL. Oh the anguish he would feel and my schadenfreude would know no limits.

If he wants to go so badly then let him but only if he and his agent cough up enough to balance our perceived 'loss' (by not achieving his 'real' market worth (and no-one needs to come up with this bollocks that whatever we get is his real market worth because we all know that is not really the case) by foregoing fees and bonuses - let's see how much he really wants the move.

However at the moment the reality is this may be hindering our ability to secure the other players we need, obscuring the clubs' situation and attractiveness for potential targets and making us seem like the villain. Those who feel they would get more playing time, or do better without Suarez here, may be reluctant to contemplate a move until he's gone. Those that want to play alongside Suarez (because of the added chance of success we have with him in the team) will see he is probably on his way and we are weakened and less likely of success. That said tripling someone's wages always works.

I am assuming there will be an official response from the club on this today. An interesting few weeks for us.

This has been done to death, Bales value has no bearing on Suarez, they are two independent deals. Why not compare his value to Higuain, or Rooney, or any other player, what has it got to do with Bale specifically?

Primarily because: (1) they are in similar situations. Both have 2 years or more on their contracts (2) They are deemed to be in the same class in terms of ability and age (3) The same teams are in for both players (Real Madrid) (4) The most important one: a player's value is determined by demand and supply. If teams can pay 100m for Bale, then they can afford to pay 80m for Suarez. If you don't want to, fine. Because we don't want to sell him at 50% of Bale's value. We think he's as good a player.

What is so hard to understand about this?

Replace....

'Its hard to compete in the Premier League when you know you have no chance of winning it'

..... with this next season ......

'Its hard to compete in the Champions League when you know you have no chance of winning it'

Besides, he's not even the best Luis to ever play for us anyway.

I like Ryan and he knows it, but he can be a right big fanny on occasions.

His support for his favorite players is unquestionable, but it clouds any objectivity whatsoever.

Happy Birthday @Dreambeliever

Wenger has done to us EXACTLY what I said Mourinho was doing to Manure with the Rooney bid. I bet he has no interest in signing Suarez - and it's his way of unsettling a rival that he feels may compete for 4th.

Tony Barret
If the clause in Suarez's contract isn't as watertight as he'd expected, surely he'll ask questions of his agent who signed it off?

@TonyBarretTimes I would. Not sure about Suarez and bet Pere is fanning the club-broke-its-promise flames b/c beats saying he messed up
