Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

Because Cavani is apparently their no.1 target along with Bale. With Ronaldo probably staying and Cavani already confirming to his family that Real is his preferred destination, there'll be no place for Suarez there. Unless Bale stays at Spurs.

Higuain is definitely leaving, and there's a reasonable chance that Di Maria is also on his way out. Benzema has been inconsistent(and has legal troubles), and Callejon is also likely departing. If anything, I see a potential glut in the midfield moreso than in the strikeforce.

Cavani
Bale
Ronaldo
Benzema

Madrid are going to need another attacker to complement that group, because no matter how talented they are, there is virtually no cover. Either way, can't see that being the deciding factor in if they sign, or don't sign Suarez.

50M and they can have him 😉

I would like to think that if he goes we'll get 50M for him, and this huge profit on the player will go some way to mitigating Kenny's decision to buy both him and Carroll in the same transfer window. Some you win, some you lose, I'm sure Kenny didn't have anything to do with paying 35M for the Geordie twonk.
That's how I'm looking at it, if only for my own sanity.

No player is bigger than the club so while Suarez is worldclass, 50M would appease the loss and go a long way towards rebuilding the squad if that money is made available to BR.

Well I don't particularly care about Bale's injury record as such.
I do think it is incorrect to label him injury prone though or having a 'track record of injuries' as you put it.

He's admitted himself he had to cope with an ankle problem all season. That's ALL season. 'It's just something we've had to watch and cope with because it's ongoing'. He seems a bit like Owen was after his hamstring injury - deeply neurotic about the prospect of any re-occurrence. So if any club wasn't cautious about spending £70-80m on him without finding out all there is to know about that it would be irresponsible. I didn't say it would stop them, I was saying they'd naturally would want to get to the root of the rumours before committing. I really don't see why you're so exercised by the comment.

Not exercised at all my good man, I think your being over-sensitive really.
But sure that is why they have medicals, isn't it?
Either way, we both don't really care that much about Bale or his injuries so I'm out.

Edinson Cavani is one of Europe's hottest properties this summer
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has claimed Manchester City are not prepared to meet their £53.6million asking price for striker Edinson Cavani.
De Laurentiis has also said Real Madrid are the only club to have made an acceptable offer for the Uruguay forward while he has had no contact with Chelsea.
Cavani, who scored 38 goals last season, is one of the hottest properties in the world game and has been consistently linked with a big-money move. But it appears City's interest in the 26-year-old, who scored three goals against them in two Champions League games in 2011, could be cooling.
De Laurentiis, speaking at a press conference to unveil new manager Rafael Benitez, said: "Manchester City have not the money to pay for Cavani, they say, 'We don't pay that'. The Abu Dhabi (owners) have said they will never spend 63million euros for Cavani. They say, 'We can give other things', but they are not in the interest of our club."
De Laurentiis added that Real Madrid have made known their willingness to meet a release clause and he would expect the player to speak to the Spanish giants.
He said: "At this time, Real Madrid are the only club who have made a firm offer for Cavani. It is human, if Real Madrid call, to answer. He knows he has a clause and must decide."
As for Chelsea, De Laurentiis said: "Chelsea? Certain kind of agents may tell you Chelsea will call you, but maybe he has spoken with somebody who has spoken with somebody, who has spoken with somebody who says 'maybe'. My company never received a call. It is very difficult to pay the 63million (euros) because Financial Fair Play is conditioning everybody."
Cavani is currently with his national team at the Confederations Cup in Brazil. Benitez, who was in charge of Chelsea last season, says the player has made no decisions about his future but he would like him to stay.
The Spaniard said: "He is playing with his national team so we have not talked about his future. As the chairman has said, we will wait and see how he feels. He is an important player for us so we are very happy if he continues playing well and scoring goals."
City have already had a busy summer, having appointed Manuel Pellegrini as manager and spent close to £45million on Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho and Spain winger Jesus Navas. They have also been strongly linked with Malaga's Spain Under-21 playmaker Isco.

It says at the top that this article is updated, so it could be as old as Benitez' first day there and of course because of the source it could be complete horse shit mixed with bullshit. But if I'm gonna clutch at straws then I'll take them where I can find them.

Well it's all gone a bit quiet hasn't it. I don't think Real will come in for him, he knows it and is keeping his mouth shut to avoid any further embarrassment now he realises he'll still be at Liverpool next season.

Yep - Real will go for Cavani I think. Especially now Citeh have supposedly ruled themselves out. We'll see though I guess.

I am starting to think that Luis could go to Napoli, after all. Rafa will have 55 millions burning a hole in his pocket after selling Cavani, Suarez doesn't have too many options once Real drop out (which they probably will, if they sign both Cavani and Isco) and Rodgers could be tempted by a cash + player deal involving Insigne. Far from a sure thing, but it could happen.

The big question is whether Luis is so determined to get out of England that he would choose to go a club like Napoli, which is not really a step up from Liverpool despite them playing in the Champions League this year. Obviously I hope he stays.

Luis Suárez will start to look at other offers in the event of a move away from Liverpool. As reported by MARCA, the Uruguayan forward reached an agreement with Real Madrid several weeks ago so that, pending the go ahead from the English club, the way would be clear for a fast track transfer to 'Los Blancos'.

That was a month ago now. Time has gone on and Real Madrid still has no official coach, a factor holding up any deals it may be able, or may want to do, among them that of Luis Suárez.

MARCA has discovered that Suárez has other offers comparable to that of Real Madrid on the table which he has now started to consider in view of Real Madrid's indecision.

The agreement with Real Madrid does not signify a done deal for several reasons: firstly, it is dependent on the new coach coming in, and secondly, in the event that the coach is happy with the signing, negotiations would still have to take place regarding the €47 million buy-out clause in place for Suárez at his English club.

In the meantime, Luis is open to any offers coming in as those responsible for handling the player's affairs feel that he has waited long enough.

Suárez is currently playing in the Confederations Cup, where he has racked up three goals, making him the top scorer in the history of Uruguayan football.

Cavani strongly being linked with a move to Chelsea, so Madrid might be forced to go after Suarez

if we sell him for 40-45m i hope we spend that on max 2 players . Players who can maybe take the next step and become 30,40m players like luis did himself. Any ideas on players out there like that ? Anyone at porto , in south america , dutch league etc ?
personally , if we also get that shaktar lad , i'd like to spend the money on another forward and a top midfield player .
