Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

If he does stay he will need to win fans over. He has acted like a gobshite. I'm not going to start praising him for turning up to work.

Hansern gets shit for posting twitter bollocks but now we're all made up Suarez is staying because he told some random fans in the street.

Quite.

I recall the son of someone's next door neighbour being told, outside Melwood, by Torres himself, that there was "no chance" he was going to Chelsea, 3 days before he went to Chelsea.

Somebody, somewhere in that story was dealing in bullshit.

Like Jr.Windever, I'll wait and see.

Why, don't they have faith in this new transfer committee they set up? Or are you just trying yet again to make a cheap and lazy and irrelevant snipe?

Yup, agree with Sheik. Keeping him and adding someone quality to the team is much better than replacing him and rebuild from scratch.

We managed to sign Sturridge and Coutinho for less than £20 million. It probably made them think of what we could get without spending silly amounts of cash.
I really doubt that we can even entice players who are worth over £30 million to join the club without CL football.

I don't think that's necessarily true, I think we are going down the route of buying young, low wage, relatively low fee players in the hope of building a squad for the longterm, but Rodgers himself has reiterated that he wants a couple of big signings now to improve the first team, the talks over HM suggest as much too, we were willing to pay about £20m for him, so I wouldn't rule out the occasional big transfer, it's exactly as it should be and pretty much what United do, add the occasional marquee signing while trying to be shrewd with lesser signings.

Most marquee signings also want CL football. It's gonna be tough.
The best we can do is buy an unwanted player from a top side in Europe but will we be paying more than £30 million, I doubt that.

We did it with Suarez, I don't think the players have to be that much anyway, £20m+ is still a BIG signing, look at what United paid for RVP, there's a relatively big gap between players who are deemed the next big thing, your Christian E at £15m-£20m for example, in comparison to Suarez or Cavani at the top of their game going for more or less 2-3 times that amount. There's little in between, you're either paying for very good potential or you're paying for proven top quality when we're talking marquee signings and we can certainly afford (and in some cases, attract) the former.

I get what you're saying and you're right. Still, I can't remember that we've been linked to a top rated player this summer which makes me doubt that we're going to sign one.
We'll most likely buy two young, talented players who can potentially come in and make a difference.

Heh.. remember last Summer, the BIG signing we were linked to was Wesley, look what happened there. After what we've seen with Sturridge and Coutinho (I'm liking the look of Alberto too), I'm not too fussed or bothered about the lack of a big story on the horizon, we'll buy a couple more players and see what happens.

Yeah, if can't get the star players we need to beat our rivals by playing better football.
That's why I'm on the Brendan bandwagon, I think it's "do-able".

We shouldnt underestimate the appeal we still have towards new players re joining us.
Yes, we dont have CL footy at the moment but we'll hopefully get there soon.

We sold out 2 x 85-90 000 capacity stadiums in Asia in under 2 hours.
Arsenal manged 50k and Chelsea had to give out free tickets to fill their match in Malaysia.

Liverpool Football Club is special, and loads of players out there feel the same. And when you currently dont have CL football you highlight all the other positives that makes us special.

Some players you'll sadly lose out on because of not being in Europe. Suarez wants to play at the highest level? Well, so does the entire club and every fan out there.

We were in for the Armenian guy so we're clearly willing to spend at least 20M on a player.

If Suarez does go we should be able to source a replacement for a figure in that ball park.

Except it's not quite some random bloke in the street. He comes to my pub to watch the games.

So he's a genuine fan, who posted pictures of Suarez signing a shirt outside the hotel the team is staying in and reported what he told him.

I'm certain the information is accurate.

What is completely uncertain, is how truthful Suarez was being.

However, he's with the team in Melbourne, there's a public appearance tomorrow evening by a few of the first team players and a semi-open training session planned for Tuesday evening. Things will unfold pretty quickly from here on I'm sure.

Ian Rush & Robbie Fowler are over doing a lot of the meet & greets - I'm sure they'll be asked about info as well.

It is easier for Suarez to just tell fans he is staying. Imagine him telling a group of fans he was going and the multitude of potential dramas it would cause.

I'm surprised he got through customs. They should carry him round in a cage.

He was getting hassled by TV cameras in Sydeny Airport when he arrived there asking him questions as he was walking around with his suitcases on a trolly.

My missus turns to me and says... " he should just bite the camera man"..

Liverpool favourite Bruce Grobbelaar believes that the Reds should allow Chelsea and Arsenal target Luis Suarez to leave the club.

The Gunners lead the race for the Uruguayan and the Zimbabwean believes that the Merseyside outfit should sell him and allow Daniel Sturridge to lead the line.

“Liverpool already have a great forward in Daniel Sturridge,” Grobbelaar said.

“He will become a brilliant striker with the right service. You saw that at the end of last season.

“If I was sitting in the top spot at Liverpool I would actually try to off-load Suarez as soon as possible.

“There are rumours that Arsenal are coming up with a £40million bid because that is his buyout clause.”

Grobbelaar believes that Liverpool could sign Christan Erikesen and Spurs target Toby Alderweireld.

He added: “If they get rid of Suarez then Liverpool can go to Ajax and get Eriksen and Alderweireld. That would be a great coup.”

I would've thought it was the airport security guys or baggage handlers that wrapped the luggage in cling film.

It is. They do it when the case is ripped, damaged or has been opened by customs having been previously locked & the lock broken so they can get into it.
