Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

When is he due to link up with the squad? I would assume if there is no deal in place before then its unlikely to happen, Real have already spent 50 million on Isco and Illaramendi so any bid from them will probably be dependent on Higuain moving first

He's getting the boot, this is all smokes and mirrors.

Its not so much smoke and mirrors as it is taking a hard line position on negotiations, its the reason Spurs always get a decent fee when they sell a player on, they make it clear from the start that they are not going to do you a favour

Agreed, we actually seem to have handled this well so far.

As such I'm waiting for us to sell him for a bog roll & half a snickers on the last day of the transfer window, things can't be run that we'll for long at our club.

His name was chanted repeatedly by around 8,000 vociferous fans who packed into the Gelora Bung Karno National Stadium.

Luis Suarez is a long way from Indonesia but he has still dominated the agenda during the first leg of Liverpool’s pre-season tour.

Every fan in these parts wants to chat and ask the million-dollar question: Is Suarez staying or going?

During last night’s open training session in Jakarta the locals were in the party spirit as they set off flares and paid homage to their heroes with Reds MD Ian Ayre even urged to bring back Xabi Alonso.

Suarez’s outbursts about wanting to move on this summer has done little to dent his popularity among Asian Kopites, but whether that remains the case is likely to become clearer over the next five days.

Tomorrow night Suarez is scheduled to arrive in Melbourne to link up with his team-mates.

His flights are booked and Reds officials are convinced he will fulfil his duties.

Once the Uruguayan has recovered from the jet-lag, manager Brendan Rodgers and Ayre will hold face to face talks with him for the first time since he announced his desire to quit the Reds back in May.

To suggest that Liverpool are resigned to losing last season’s 30-goal top scorer is wildly inaccurate.

If anything the past few weeks have strengthened the club’s resolve to keep their prized asset who is under contract for a further three years.

Liverpool will reinforce the point to Suarez that despite his best attempts to stir up interest, there has been only one bid for his services and that was a derisory £30million offer from Arsenal.

The Gunners have yet to increase that figure for a player Rodgers values around the same mark as fellow Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, who went to Paris St-Germain from Napoli for £55million.

During the talks Down Under Rodgers and Ayre will make it clear that under no circumstances will they allow this saga to drag into next month.

They will also map out to Suarez their vision to take the club forward this season and speak to him about the signings they have in the pipeline.

The message will be clear – give us another 12 months to prove to you that our ambition matches your own.

Don’t go elsewhere to play in the Champions League, stay and fire us back into Europe’s elite.

Liverpool expect Suarez’s future to be much clearer by the time they head for Bangkok on Thursday.

The hope is that by then he will have abandoned thoughts about leaving and reaffirmed his commitment to the cause.

It promises to be an intriguing week.

I reckon he'll want to go next season even if we win the league.
But loving the club's stance on this, and the hope is that with Suarez being a complete simpleton, Rodgers and Ayre can convince him / hypnotist him into believing that it's in his best interest to play at 120% next season.

Is that a half eaten snickers or a snickers that's been cut in half?

There's a big difference.

Rodgers: "We'll see Luis in Melbourne. I'm looking forward to it.

"He is employed by the football club, so he should be here.

"If he is not, there will be a problem."

He's telling fans in Melbourne he's not going anywhere.

Coates is saying he's unsure about his future.

For what it's worth.

I'm glad he's not gone AWOL. That would have just been unbearable.

C'mon Luis, give us 1 more season and then you can do one.

The words from his mouth were "100% I am staying", to one of the lads over here that got his shirt signed outside the hotel he's staying.

... But yes, some kind of more public declaration would be preferable, but you could view it as a positive.

It's also entirely possible that the club are using the "not for sale" line to ensure that, when they sell, the return is maximized.

They should just keep showing him pictures of London-based hacks - Rob Beasley, Charlie Sale, Martin Samuel, Paul Smith, etc etc. As aversion therapy that ought to make him drop any plans to join Arsenal.

Hansern gets shit for posting twitter bollocks but now we're all made up Suarez is staying because he told some random fans in the street.
