Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

My heart is really uncomfortable

...And how does that feel?

Uncomfortable.

...And this?

Uncomfortable.

...And...this?

Once again: uncomfortable.

Why does Purslow get asked for his opinion still?

He's basically had like a year in football and that's it.

For some strange, unknown reason, this thread brought me back to a scene in the late 18th century at the House of Commons, where a lone, young William Wilberforce is arguing his stand on abolishing the slave trade to the deafening roars of disapproval and mockery of the fat, corrupted PMs.

They say without the income from the slave trade, the British Empire wouldn't be where it would be and the king's coffers would be empty, especially in financing the war, etc.

But silly Billy argues that war or no war, business or no business, the slave trade is not ethical and is not what humanity is about. He says there is a way to do things, to achieve success and abusing & mistreating 'negros' is NOT the right way.

So, what you're saying is...

We should free Suarez ??
(an let Sturridge go as well...??)

Arsenal Vs Fenerbache in the Champs Lge as well I hope they go out. We could've well and truly fucked up their summer and season with this transfer saga, hahahaha the Gooner bellends! Gunna go give Piers Morgan shit on twitter now too the cunt!

Yeah. If I could be arsed I suspect there is a fair bit of panicking going on in Arsenal forums right now....
So after reading this I thought I'd go and take a look, always interesting to know what the opposite side of the fence is thinking. I was surprised, most (not all obviously !) are very respectful and envious even, of the way our management have handled this whole sordid episode.

These quotes are from Online Arsenal, and if you think this thread is long .... that one is currently at 251 pages !

I can fully understand Henry regarding it "laughable" to sell his best striker to a rival.
who honestly can say that he is NOT right?

Maybe like 18 out of the other 19 PL clubs they want to aim higher than where they are and attack the teams above them, not just hold back the teams behind them. They're not going to worry about their rivals for sixth are they if fourth is their goal.
I'd like an owner that told our rivals to fuck right off.

That Henry guy is quite the character. I wish we had a man in charge like that.

Despite some stupid transfers like Andy Carroll, they also made some big bucks by selling Torres for a record and potentially Suarez for twice the amount they have paid.
As for staunchly holding onto their best player. Well done to them. I wish Wenger held onto Cesc, Nasri, Song, RVP as staunchly.
I wonder if we could poach Henry, maybe in a swap deal for Kroenke?

Lol read Henry's latest comments and the strength of them. THAT is what you want to hear from the big man in charge re: your best player, even if a few bridges have been supposedly burned. Take note Silent Stan.
There is now absolutely, unequivocally 0% chance of this transfer happening now imo, hope some of you aren't clinging on too strongly to that dwindling belief that they will let him go to us.

Oh and this (Arsenal are going to be desperate for strikers now) : Gervinho has joined Italian Serie A side AS Roma for an undisclosed fee.
55% think Suarez won't sign for them.

You know I've been with you on the "we need to be more cuntish a la United" bandwagon for a while Ken.

I guess with this one there's a limit though, and he crossed it some time ago, and then some. He has absolutely no respect for the club or the fans, to the point that he's prepared to do just about anything to get away from us. How can anyone happily ignore and accept that because "he's a footballer, and scores goals". That's a copout as far as I'm concerned.

I wouldn't call it "accepting it". More like, "putting up with it".

They wont miss Gervinho.. He is utter shite..

They could always play Walcott up top.. Its nice to know Arsenal are struggling to strengthen, what the bets though they will be in for Diego..

Arse players released by the club this summer:

  • Arshavin, Andrey
  • Bihmoutine, Samir
  • Charles-Cook, Reice Jordan
  • Denilson, Pereka Neves
  • Eastmond, Craig Leon
  • Gervinho
  • Hajrovic, Sead
  • Henderson, Conor Alan
  • Meade, Jernade Ronnel
  • Oldfield Spence-Neita, Nigel Paul
  • Rees, Joshua David
  • Roberts, Philip James
  • Shea, James
  • Squillaci, Sebastien
  • Watt, Herschel Oulio Sanchez

What an absolute shower!

Who knows, this could be the Gerrard to Chelsea-esque transfer turnaround which makes Suarez what he really has here.

If he does by some magic continue here next season, and he can apologise and maybe just maybe manage to get us back where we belong then who are we to spurn a man who has only done the same as our hero Stevie G back in the day? (obviously to a worse degree, but then lets hope one day he realises the error of his ways)

The thread I read said they already are !

But Stevie was sulking because he didn't feel the love from his club/manager, and thought he'd get that with the Portuguese cunt.

It couldn't have been made any clearer over the last couple of years how much the club feels about Suarez, and Suarez's sulking only comes front the fact that we're refusing to sell him on te cheap.

I think they're completely different situations.

Like I said earlier, with an apology, I'm happy for Suarez to come back and give his all, I care more about getting back to the top than bearing a grudge against a very stupid man.

Former Liverpool star John Barnes has said that modern football fans are to partly to blame for Luis Suarez's feud with the club.

The ex-England midfielder believes supporters have empowered players too much over the years, making them feel that they are bigger than their club.

"This is the future of modern football we have created. The media and especially the fans have empowered players too much to make them feel that a) they are better than their team-mates and b) they're better than their clubs," he told talkSPORT.

"We've seen it at Arsenal where so many players have left because Arsenal cannot match their ambitions, and the fans are the ones who have created this superstar culture whereby you've separated the team and the superstars to feel more important than the club.

"What has empowered him and the likes of [Fernando] Torres is they feel team is losing not because of them but because of their teammates."

Barnes went on to say that Suarez should share the blame for Liverpool's failure to qualify for the Champions League last season.

He added: "Suarez is saying he needs to go because they've not qualified for the Champions League, but he was part of the team that failed to do that. He has to take responsibility for that. He's saying, 'I've done my job, I'm good enough, but the players I'm playing with aren't'.

"Our superstar players feel they are untouchable. We've gone too far and there's no way back.

"The fans have a lot to answer for. Don't fall in love with players because they will leave given the right circumstances. Support the club, support the group and then, if any player wants to step out of line, we won't support him. Maybe then they won't get over-inflated egos and behave the way they do."

Arsenal have had two bids rejected for Suarez, but Liverpool owner John W Henry has since ruled out the possibility of the striker joining the Gunners.

The more I look at it the more we should be grateful to that cunt Pere Guardiola. He's basically completely fucked over Arsenal's summer shopping window. They were banking on Suarez, and with a few weeks left, they'll either overpay for dross or stay pat. With a very similar team to last year, a main rival hasn't got stronger. Now if only Bale leaves Spurs, another rival weakens too.

Exactly what I was thinking - worth losing 10mil on Suarez next summer is well worth it to see the aggro there's gonna be at Arsenal

Ok I read it there, I'll admit I only skimmed it before. Yeah, that's a load of horseshit. You can blame the media to extent, but not the fans.

Leadership, that's what this finally feels like. Now, does anyone else feel this season is ON, like this whole episode has worked in our favor and we're determined to get ahead of Arsenal,, Spurs, Chelsea, City and other wannabes?. Determined to make our way back to the top? I feel like the whole incident has given us motivation, a spine, and a competitive desire to get back up there. Hopefully the players feel the same. Hey Luis, you just got put in your place.
