Luis Alberto is an attacking midfielder who has first division experience with Sevilla FC. He has a goalscoring instinct and reads the game to perfection, making him a very effective provider of assists. Luis Alberto can also play in any of the more advanced positions, especially as a ‘false centre forward’.

Alberto has been playing on-loan for Barca B this season, having struck ten goals so far.

Barca can sign him for €3.8 million and are ready to trigger the option, says Estadio Deportivo, as they have received enquiries from foreign clubs willing to buy Alberto for €10 million.

Sevilla will also be happy as the original agreement includes a 30 per cent sell-on fee.

Interviewed by Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla FC 20 year old forward Luis Alberto Romero Alconchel, actually on loan at Barcelona B, has declared: "I would be really happy to move back to Sevilla, it's my home and I owe everything to that club. Sevilla CF’s Luís Alberto Romero signed a one-year loan deal with Barça B this summer. His transition to the team’s style of play couldn’t have been any better.

After not being named to the team for the two first games of the season, Romero featured in the team's next three games - all of which were won by Barça B - against Sabadell, Guadalajara and Ponferradina. His performances in the latter two game were especially notable. Against Guadalajara he scored the game-winning goal and at the Miniestadi, against Ponferradina, he scored the first and assisted Lobato for the second.

Romero is comfortable playing in the midfield and in the false 9 position: “Everything is working out well and I’m eager to keep on working. The team cannot stop here, we know that we have to continue our work; we’re getting better each day.”

Barça B’s number 9 is a technically gifted player, he dominates the ball with both feet, and he’s confident in front of goal. Standing 182 centimeters tall, he’s one of the tallest players on the roster. According to Eusebio, “he’s ideal for our style of play. He’s very good technically and he has good field vision, he’s also a strong lad and he uses his body well.”

Barça B currently sit in sixth position, in the promotion play-off zone of the table.

Sevilla's B team is playing a level lower at Segunda B, compared to Barca B's Segunda Division.

Basically, they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. If Barca do not take up the option, his good season in Segunda Division would've also acted as a shop window. He would also return as a better player, should they decide to keep him.
