Ludicrous Rumours

So he's moving to Liverpool because he's increasingly concerned about his lack of starts for Leicester?

Ok - that's interesting.
Thats my take on it too, he couldn't get a game at struggling Leicester for god sakes.

Chilwell has come on leaps and bounds though in recent weeks.

Well... on the one hand we sold Ibe for £15m when he couldn't get into our team.

So the question has to be, given he's young, what do we see in him that Leicester don't?

You'd have to say though - I'd rather spend the money elsewhere.

Surely he's not that much better than Ojo?

Klopp: "The work for next season is already pretty much done."

Klopp: "We now have to make a decision, some negotiations need to be had...but most of the work is pretty much done yes."

Did he actually say this? Are you just making it up?

LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp has said the majority of Liverpool's summer transfer plans are in place after they secured Champions League qualification on Sunday.

Liverpool finished in the Premier League's top four for only the second time in the past eight seasons thanks to a 3-0 win over relegated Middlesbrough at Anfield.

Earlier this week, Klopp said that, having held talks with potential signings, players were increasingly interested in the "project" at Anfield.
"We are already pretty much done," the manager said of the club's transfer business. "Most of the work is already done.
"Decisions need to be done, probably negotiations or whatever needs to be done -- all that stuff. It's all good. We are prepared, we will see what will work out.

"I have a little bit of work to do -- it's a few phone calls, talking about wonderful things like football, Liverpool and other things."
Georginio Wijnaldum's goal against Boro in first-half stoppage time relieved the pressure at Anfield, with Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana adding to the scoreline shortly after the break.
Klopp believes the fourth-placed finish is an achievement and can be a platform for future success.
"It feels outstandingly good in this moment," he added. "Everything is good in this club.
"It feels good, but of course we have to deliver results. Feeling in a good way is one thing, showing you are in a good way is another thing -- again, we showed it today.
"We deserve this position. Seventy-six points is an outstanding number. We all know what happened in January [a slump in form], I'm not sure all of us agree why. The explanation is injuries and games -- we cannot change this.
"We learned a lot this year about ourselves, so we can use it.
"Usually at the end of the season you are kind of tired, but I could start tomorrow because I'm really looking forward to what we can do. I'm really proud of the boys. They did well."

Liverpool have to overcome a qualifier to book their place in the group stage of Europe's premier competition.
Having been absent from the Champions League for the past two seasons, Klopp feels Liverpool now need to compete with Europe's best on a regular basis.
"There is nothing better," he said. "You want to be there -- Liverpool needs to be there consistently.
"I would not say we are already in because qualification is qualification, but I'm already looking forward to it. We will be really strong and we will fight for it.
"You have to make steps and the step is for us to be around the best teams in the world because we are one of the best clubs in the world."

That pretty much sounds like our targets are picked, doesn't really come across as everything is done, players want to sign etc

Probably mentioned elsewhere, but I just remembered the last time we secured champions league footy.

We went and bought Markovic, Lallana, Lovren, Moreno, Balotelli, Lambert. What a clusterfuck of signings.

Surely we'll do better this time.

Now Liverpool have confirmed their Champions League status for next year, the likes of Antoine Griezmann should be on their radar says former Reds star Dean Saunders.

If we're prepared to pay wages north of 150k, which I reckon we will be, we'll have no problem attracting top players.

With Champions League now in the bag, I am feeling hopeful that we'll get to hear about some really ludicrous rumours from the mill!!

I want to read about potential swap deals for Neymar (with our BBQ Brazilian going the other way), I want Helicopter's in the air over Craven Cottage as we try to impress 16-year-old ballers, secret meetings in Milano over Donnarumma and a tactical bid for "Matis Lemeuille" as he's best mates with both Antoine Griezmann AND Kylian M'bappe, allegedly. And finally I want to read some juicy whispers that we've all but hired a top Scandinavian chef only to accommodate the quartet of Eriksen, Dolberg, Christensen and Forsberg.

That's what I want.

Not a rumour actually but nowhere else to put this and don't really need an Mbappe thread since he obviously won't be a bona fide Liverpool target.

Monaco have stunned Real Madrid by knocking back their world-record offer for French sensation Kylian Mbappe, reports the Telegraph.
The €120m (£103m) offer comes after the 18-year-old inspired the principality club to the Ligue 1 title with 15 goals and 11 assists.

The bid would top the €100m that Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba.
The France international only has a contract until 2019, but Monaco are determined to keep hold of their prized possession and want to offer him a new bumper deal.

Well, he had a much better season than Pogba, hence he should cost more!!! 🙂

With all the hype I expected more than 15 goals in Ligue 1. Ballotelli has something similar.

Youri Tielemans will sign for AS Moncao later this week according to Anderlecht's director. So kinda not a Ludicrous Rumour I guess but nonetheless a player on the move some of you have claimed we should be in for..

He's making a really really smart career move - CL football, a step up from Belgium and a club that WILL have tons of scouts watching him ... Continue to grow and within 1-2 years, he's with a bigger club on double the wages.

And he gets to live in the French Riviera....

Kieta's contract runs till 2020. Costa is worth way more than €25m. Besides, Klopp has identified his targets and now the negotiations need to be done. It's great if he gets his targets early, he'll have more prep time with with them.
