Inter want Conte or Simeone to manage Chelsea:

Well, Conte already manages Chelsea

Simeone and Griezmann are expected to stay at Atletico for one more year, given that they are moving into the new stadium this summer.

i doubt that. My bet is that Simeone will be Arsenal bound and Griezmann off to United.

Arsenal have just moved all their chips into the middle of the table.

Going all-in for Mbappe & Aubameyang promising the youngster full playing-time and the speedster (and Dortmund) loads of gold and new cars.

For as much as I don't think Arsenal is a force to be reckoned with as of now that duo would instantly turn them into dangerous contenders.

I mean a M'bappe, Aubameyang and Sanchez trio is a mouth-watering prospect.

One of the reporters over here who follow the Spanish league said that this is what will happen this summer according to the Spanish journos following Atletico. Griezmann himself has apparently been pretty vocal about one more season in the new stadium.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

They have no chance and they know it. Neither will move to a team not in the CL (as they have both stated). This is a move designed to persuade Sanchez that he should stay.

I'm expecting Sanchez to leave TBH, but if they sign the other two they'll be much more dangerous anyway. I take Froggy's point about the CL, but there's so much unspent wonga in the Arse's transfer kitty that they might be able to make each of the others an offer he couldn't refuse.

Sounds legit.
The fact that United have already offered 75m for Mbappe and been repulsed and that Aubameyang will cost somewhere in that ballpark too makes Arsenal's move ludicrous, since the whole world knows they are not going to throw 150m plus on two strikers.

I am leaning towards your way to look at it, however as you say 1) they must have got loads to spend and 2) M'bappe is still very young so he COULD perhaps survive one year without Champions League if everything else panned out for him nicely.

It probably won't happen for many a good reason, but it's been a while there've even been signs/talks of this type of major intent from the Gunners.

Some young players however would weigh a sound 'strategy' over money, meaning that, can Arsenal or anyone else at the top flight guarantee a given player that he will actually figure whenever fit that suddenly becomes more alluring that the risk of sitting on United's or City's bench, despite of their higher salaries.

Can you imagine those 3 up top, it'd be ridiculous. About 10 goals a game. Pure pace.

I don't see why Aubameyang or Mbappe would go to Arsenal.

The former has his pick of practically every club in the world and the latter surely represents too much of a gamble for arsenal to spend that sort of money regardless of whether he would actually go there

Ludicrous rumours , alright.

I guess to an extent it depends on whether Arsenal view this summer as make or break in terms of their status. They might decide to step it up (can they in terms of their finances?).

True. That'll be us. Small change for us this year.

Just as a reminder; Arsenal spent just shy of 100M last summer, and only recouped 6M. Same 2 windows before that when they spent 96M

This notion that Wenger doesn't have the finances is fucking folklore bullshit. It's just that he keeps buying absolute fannies.

Do many people think he doesn't have the moolah though? He himself occasionally tries to hint at that but I don't know anyone who believes him.

I know. But Mustafi and Perez who made up the bulk of that 100M aren't really statement signings - they felt more like token signings to appease the fans and maybe give some cover for the season ahead.

Mustafi, Perez and Xhaka for 100 mill. Thats not much improvement of the team with so much money spent.

Stand-in striker for them, not a bad player but certainly not one who's going to make a big difference.

I quite rate Mustafi, who's been one of Wenger's better defensive buys IMO, but he's no galactico either.

James Pearce from the Echo reckons we'll spend 120-130 mill this summer. Keita and van Djik are top of the list.
