Last week, following his £50m deadline day move from Liverpool to Chelsea, Fernando Torres spoke to Chelsea TV and said how pleased he was to be moving to a club at the top level.

Liverpool fans didn’t take kindly to those words, but in all honesty, given the Reds’ league position over the last 18 months, we’ve not been dining at the top table since May 2009 so it was a fair point – if not the best choice of words in a hastily arranged interview at the end of a long day.

Just over a week later, with the ink dried on the contract and having seen his new side defeated by his resurgent former side, Torres has told Spanish radio how special Liverpool will always to be him, and that they are the bigger of the two clubs. He also admitted he ‘lost enthusiasm’ for the transitional period at LFC.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, Torres said “Liverpool will always be very special to me.

“Because of its history, Liverpool is a bigger club but it’s going through a difficult time.

“Chelsea is like Manchester United, the strongest over the last 10 years. One is not better than the other, I’m just happy to have had the fortune of playing for both of them.â€

Of the move itself, the Spaniard – who is on international duty this week – said “Money was not important. I left to improve sporting-wise.

“I thought I would stay one more year and take it as a transition season. But a time comes when you lose enthusiasm, you see those in the Spanish national team are playing at a different level.

“Then when everything looked black,Chelsea came and showed a real interest.â€

Surprised his hamstrings aren't in tatters after that interview

chelsea fans beware

Torres ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY (injury alert)

Ha, wait and see, he'll not get fucking played now he's left us.

He knows that he fucked up. Didn't you see his face when we scored? His new interview where he admits that Liverpool is "bigger" than Chelsea is just a PR exercise. He is doing a brilliant job of alienating himself....

Dreamy don't be naive:
There is nothing wrong with having ambition and wanting to win trophies. If he believes that the Chavs offer him the best chance of doing that, then so be it. However, why make public commitments to stay with the club when you know what your intentions are and then elaborate how you could never play for a rival? Wasn't David Villa quoted after the WC that he was surprised that Nandough stayed because he thought he would have joined the Chavs? That wasn't a random statement.

G&H did break their promises to the club but he shouldn't start talking about us selling Xabi and Mascherano like we wanted to? Both players wanted out for different reasons. Xabi's relationship with Rafa broke down and Mascherano's was lonely in his ivory tower while his wife was unhappy.

The problem most of us have with Nandough is:

1. handing in a transfer request to force our hand added insult to injury
2. his publicly declared, professed love for the club, city and fans which we now know is a lie
3. his calling of Chelsea a bigger club than us which is an insult
4. his lie about not kissing the badge which exposed him as a fraud

Still think he done nothing wrong?

Oh Fernando

I still don't think he did much wrong.

We didn't give him what he came here for.

Shame really as he could have gone down as one of the truly greats at the greatest club in the world.

Any chance he can do a Rush? 😛

1. Didn't do much wrong

Leaving was not the issue ... it's saying one thing, and doing the other which has pissed us all off.

I find it unbelievable that he has the balls to come out and say he left because of "broken promises" ... having himself said he remains committed & always honouring his contracts.

Shut the fuck up.

"This was an important season for me – to forget about injuries and a World Cup that was not great on a personal level,"

WHAT A FUCKING C.O.C.K.

That sums him up right there. You won the fucking World Cup you cunt. Won it. Played the whole way fucking through it too. But it wasn't a "success" cos it wasn't all about you.

What a fucking cock.

Me being old fashioned again I suppose, but I think a players focus should be what he can bring to the team and the club not that the club exists to serve his individual needs.

Self interest is often a good thing but not overarching in a team game. Logically it means that he will continue to move around until he wins something. Is that the sort of individual you want to best serve the club?

He's a great player but his attitude needs adjusting.

It's like the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the meek give up and are rewarded with a 40% pay increase before sending the PR goons because they don't like to just say, I'm a cunt, what of it?

That's why I've not got a problem with Balotelli by the way. He's just like, hey, look everyone, I've got a rediculous cunt hat on, a big wodge of cunt money, and I'll eagerly stage my cuntery at some other stadium on a cuntish whim.

If he did have someone write some shit bio for him, it wouldn't be branded for the club he was at, it'd be like oprah magazine. Each chapter would probably be entitled Balotelli.

Yea, I can respect that a little bit more.

We're the reason he won that world cup medal. We didn't want to jeopardise his chances of playing by rushing him back so we let him rest for like 2 months before the world cup.
And then he fucks us over. He could have at least given Dalglish a chance.

looks like Judas wan't their first choice either.....................

1249 GMT: Chelsea had a £36m bid for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez rejected by the German club last month. "I only found out about the offer after the club had turned it down," said the 25-year-old Germany international. "But it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I am already at a top club and I am playing where I always wanted to." (Full story: Sport Bild)

I'm glad the cunt's gone. I can say that with zero regret. It's like when your bird was always looking at some nobhead who you hate with obvious adoration. If she finally sucks his dick you only remember the bits where you thought she might. Fuck him and fuck Chelsea and fuck what he says and fuck what he thinks.

Agger is out in the danish papers today claiming he would never do a Torres and play for another English club. If he is moving on it will be for another club in another country. He says he respects the club to much to wear a rivals shirt.

Meh

Almost word-for-word what Torres himself said in the not too distant past.

If the Torres affair taught us anything, it's that players should be judged by their actions, not their words. Agger's actions include running to the press every time he finds himself on the bench for a few games, and telling the world that he might need to consider a move if he doesn't get first team football.
