New Manchester United signing Bebe was left out of the reserves clash with City amid reports of an underwhelming start to his Reds career.

The Portuguese youngster joined in a surprise £7.4m deal from Vitoria de Guimaraes earlier this month.

But, according to the Guardian, below par training performances led reserves boss Ole Gunnar Solskajer to leave him out of the second string squad to face City, when boss Sir Alex Ferguson was supposed to be casting an eye over him.

Ferguson admitted the Bebe deal was the first time he had ever bought a player without watching him, but he came with a recommendation from former United assistant Carlos Queiroz after making a rapid rise up the Portuguese leagues.

This guy was signed on a free transfer by Vitoria only five or six weeks before United paid £7mil for him.
Something dodge about this deal.

Don't laugh, he'll end up being the lovechild of Ronaldo, Rooney and RVN and will go on to score 300 goals a season.

It stinks. I heard that Marca ran a story the day he was signed for United stating Madrid had signed him.

both the above players were and are good footballers who had and still have many clubs interested in them. why they failed with us i just dont know maybe we are cursed .

They failed because neither of them fitted into our first eleven, and weren't all that good when they did play.

They failed becaus ethey were not very good at tracking back and close down opposition.

keane scored more in his six months than Tevez scored for United in the same period. Aquaman had a few games only and he showed he will be a very good player for Juve from what I saw of him.

I am not saying that Aquallini isn't a good player and I wouldn't be surprised if he does well at Juve but I am interested to know why you think two mangers have not trusted him to play for liverpool?

He wasn't homeless when he signed him. The authorities would have a fucking field day if hey looked at transfers from obscure teams that flopped with high fees, many of ours included.

Surely no one is suggesting that there could be some dodgy dealing in our own transfers in recent seasons?
