Since the beginning of the year (8 league games):

Firmino: 6 goals, 4 assists in 8 games
Milner: 3 goals, 4 assists in 7 games
Lallana: 3 goals, 2 assists in 7 games (all his goals and assists came in his last 4 games though)

Coutinho: 2 assists in 2 games

The first three are in good form right now and I'd like us to keep playing them while they're doing well and are high in personal confidence. Palace have a lot of pace down the sides with Zaha and Bolasie, so we'll need the workrate of Lallana, Milner and Henderson to help the full backs shut them down.

------------------- Mignolet ---------------
Flanagan -- Skrtel -- Lovren -- Clyne
--------- Henderson --- Can ------------
--- Milner ------- Firmino ---- Lallana --
------------------- Sturridge ---------------

Maybe for the first time this season, we have a little selection headache for the bench, as we can pick from these outfield players (assuming Sakho and Lucas are fit):
>> Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Smith, Lucas, Allen, Coutinho, Ibe, Benteke, Origi

Palace are in a shitty streak right now, and it's usually opponents like that which turn us over. Hope we stuff them and that fucking drum in their stands.

edit: Klopp wasn't happy with that defeat at Anfield against Palace, so hopefully he'll be able to drive the guys to win here.

They havent won in 11 league games. We all know that will change on Sunday.

I still can't shake this relentless pessimism. Palace to grub a confidence booster against the flaky Reds. 1-0

I'm looking forward to this one in the hope that, rather than revert to type, we will put in another performance/effort similar to Wednesday night.

We've been struggling against Palace since that infamous 3:3 draw.
Hope we can finally get the better of them.

I hope Klopp pins this on the door with the words, "Do not let this fucking happen to me again".

Hate playing on a sunday but I think we'll beat these and the boys will be still buzzing from destroying citeh.

Klopp's press conference; selected stuff from James Pearce's tweets:

On Flanno flattening Sterling:
“I like Flanno. I have no issue with Raheem but it’s a man’s sport. No problem. Hard but fair - that's cool. I love this."
“We have Flanno now. It was clear he would play. Alberto got a really bad knock in the first half of the final. I know Flanno played on the left too, but after a long time I didn’t want to put him on the other side. It wasn’t the plan for Flanno to take Raheem out of the game.”

My note: Flanagan needs to flatten Moreno in training.

On Lucas:
"No Lucas. It's more serious than we thought."
“I’ve never heard of an injury like this, after taking a penalty.”
Quad injury. Five or six weeks. SCM is hereby declared an Arn-free zone for a month and a half.

On Sakho & Sturridge:
Sakho back training but only did a light session, Sturridge trained completely normally

.... no more new tweets for the past few minutes, so I guess the press conference is over.

No Lucas, and no Sakho. Who cares? Lovren, Toure, Caulker and Skrtel should be plenty. Lucas can't get a game in midfield anyway, and Sakho isn't good enough to play ahead of anyone in central defence.

Fucking hate playing Palace. There's plenty of bad memories there.

Now would be a great time to stuff them.

I really hate Alan Pardew, but then most people do.

He's also, handily, THE very best manager to use as an example for any "managers make fuck all difference" debate, given that he has, in the last 15 years, had so many

"West Ham/ Newcastle/ Palace are flying....could Alan Pardew manage England/ Chelsea/ Liverpool?" headlines as well as an equal amount of:

" West Ham/ Newcastle/ Palace are in a record -breaking losing streak, relegation is a possibility....could Alan Pardew be the next manager sacked?"

that he's become that argument all on his own. He's turned so many corners and "rewarded the fans/ owners patience" about 10 times at least, as well as an equal amount of genuinely dreadful results and "fans getting on his back, one game from the sack".

....Almost as if....he actually makes no difference at all.

Plus he's a genuine cunt

The graph of his managerial career probably most resembles a Toblerone.

No, you don't get it. He has a message, a very clear one, and the results improve just as that "message is getting through" and everyone understands his vision and what he expects from his players. It's very simple, but some don't understand it.

The only problem is that once the message has "got through" to the players, it unfortunately seems to keep on going, and shortly the players don't have it again, and there is often a need to reassess, possibly get back to basics, and very occasionally bring in some reinforcements so that they have more options.

Then everyone works on getting the message through again. Maybe it never stops moving, and just circles the Earth in some unfathomable ellipse.

I reckon it's more the players play well when they think they know what he wants, and then when they actually understand it, it's a shit plan and it fails
