Liverpool v West Brom Match Thread

We were extremely unlucky not to win be 4-5 goals today. Excellent performance.

The focus will be on us conceding from a set piece though, even if we played some magical footy today and beat a Pulis team for the first time in 8 matches.

What is Karius good at?

He doesn't look particularly great with his feet and he looks clueless at crosses.

Can we just go and buy a solid keeper who won't fcuk us when it comes to "sqeaky bum time". This Karius will be found out in a month, if he hasn't already.

Karius got the ball out well at times and terribly a couple of times , he doesn't look convincing in any aspect of his game unfortunately , hopefully that's not something we can say by the end of this season !

Haha

"It would have been a joke if West Brom got a draw," says the Liverpool boss

Bit early to judge him but he looked decent today. Cant really fault him for the goal.
He didn't look decent in any way shape or or form mate. He looked like a scared little schoolboy again. I'd seriously get Mig back in between the sticks immediately. This Karius is a bag of nerves.

Thought he looked a lot more confident actually. Which is the same I've read around in match reports.
Much better distribution and communication with the defence.

Still needs to work on commanding his area obviously. Hopefully Klopp will adress this even more.

But we're winning and he has conceded 3 goals in 5 games. So there is no point in upsetting the defensive structure with bringing Ming in again. We havent conceded a goal from open play in 5 games. Something is working.

It's not all about how many a goalkeeper concedes though is it. Not seeing this much better communication with defence thing either...he genuinely looks like he's scared stiff. I'm really no fan of Mignolet but he looks a far better bet at the min. And I'm not having these De Gea in his first season comparisons...who was dropped twice in his that season by the way. Can't be arsed with some experiment who might come good in the years to come...not when there's a League Title to be won.

We've played the two teams in the league who dominate set pieces the most and conceded 1 goal.
Even though he's obviously still learning and can seem nervous at times, I'd rather look at the bigger picture.
We're winning and conceding less. Something is working - dont change it.
Bringing Ming back could disrupt that.

Karius will get better aswell. Obviously.
