It's simulation, there was nothing stupid about it, he rightly went to clear the ball and there wasn't a challenge to be made. Lamella realises he's not going to get there and cheats.

I did? Wasnt my intention really was only sharing that to me it looked like a pen at first. From some angles in replay to a lesser extent. There’s contact and then there’s room for interpretation.

An unlucky decision for us really but I don’t think it was in the ‘never a pen’ bracket. And I say this without wanting to justify anything just how I saw it. We dont have to agree.

He did no such thing. The ball was there to be cleared. Lamela arrived from well out of his eyeline and manufactured the situation, and the lino bought it.

In one replay you can see Virgil must be able to see Lamela incoming. I think he took a bit of a risk after a short hesitation and 8 out of 10 times it probably would have worked too.

I think you can compare this to someone trying an overhead kick even though there are an opponent going in for the ball. It’s a bit risky.

I think we were unlucky with the decision and I dont blame Virgil either, those 50/50 plays happen all the time.

Both pens were not pens and for the same reason-in each case the spurs player initiated contact with our player looking to then fall to the ground claiming penalty.Ref fell for it in both cases.The Kane one is one we have seen before many times where the trailing leg drags unnaturally along seeking contact with the keeper.Anyone with any understanding of body mechanics can see its deliberate and unnecessary contact.
