Liverpool v Leicester City Match Thread

What worries me about Keita is that his timing is all wrong, too many wrong decisions.
Also, he needs to bulk up a little.

Yeah, that's my take too.

He can look great in moments here and there but right now, we need more.

Quite. I wonder what some game some people were watching and it's always the same posters, it's completely predictable. The same ones who were calling Robertson pathetic or whatever after a rare mistake, still championing Keita on every performance, based on the fact that he just has to be brilliant one day, because he was great for his last team and because he plays for Liverpool or Klopp, or whaever other rose tinted CDNW bollocks. Instead of just saying it like it is - it hasn't worked out well so far, he's been either a passenger or a liability.

It was pathetic from Robertson, and there's no issue in calling that out, he shouldn't be immune from criticism because he's fucking brilliant.

Keita was a solid 7 out of 10 today, nothing special, but he was much better than the rest of the midfield and was growing into the game causing issues. He wasn't a liability as you suggested, and just like Robertson shouldn't be immune to criticism, Keita shouldn't be immune to fair judgement, yes it hasn't worked out so far for him, but in the context of that single game, he was good.

We had the chance to go 10 points ahead of city we blew it and now we could have gone 7 points ahead we again blew it. Not the character of a team who have the bottle to take it over the line and finally win it after all the near misses weve had in the past few years.

5 points ahead, can’t complain. We looked lacklustre up front

We look lacklustre all over really. We need a settled back four again, which is a big issue right now and then we can probably have a more balanced midfield again, right now we're banking on players like Milner, Henderson and Fabinho plugging defensive gaps, which then has a knock-on effect on who we can play in midfield, which disrupts the system and how well we support the attack.

Two weeks ago we played with Henderson and Fabinho and conceded three, today was like the opposite, we started with two attack minded midfielders and created little. It's all about balance and we've lost it due to injuries.

It is a bit annoying

Isn't January notoriously our worst month/part of the season? We've done well, extended gap, but it could have been so much better. Tricky game next with hammers away. After city losing, I fully expect them to wallop arsenal

Hmmm I don't really buy this. Other players get reprieves because they've performed before, they've got us in this position and we can largely be thankful to them for getting us challenging. They can be forgiven more for having off days. Klopp is trying to force it with Keita when we least need him to, we stability and reliability. There's a difference between Robertson making one mistake in however long and Keita putting in another nervy, largely nothing performance.

Hmmmm I don't really buy this. Keita - no matter how poorly you want to say he played (I'm not going to argue it) - didn't make the mistake that cost us 3 points. I still think Robbo is brilliant, as are most of the players who played today and just didn't perform. There's no need for reprieves, they're still fucking great and I'm not fussed - just stating what happened (which you're at least acknowledging).

However, I get the point now - you're either against Keita and hence, right ... or see things differently (Notice, I don't think anyone said he was 'great' - and somehow, you've deliberate ignored that with a proper ref he'd have won a penalty) and are like Modo in your eyes.

Klopp is doing what he thinks is best for the team now - I think he was wrong tonight, not with Keita playing but Keita AND Shaq but whatevs. Again, no reprieve needed - he's great and we're (bar Svennis) all behind him.

3pts were there for the taking ......but we lost too many games like this in recent years. And we are 5pts ahead at the end of the day.

It's a goal scoring chance

It's not Tinto, because there were covering defenders and he was miles from goal, it was the right decision. It's not really a clear chance and I reckon the ref probably rightly took the conditions into consideration too, certainly prior to actually seeing the infringement, he's probably given Maguire the benefit of the doubt that it's slippy and those sort of challenges are likely to happen.

Poor tonight but a point is better than a loss.

Annoying Spurs turn it around.

They could be second next weekend.

Almost everyone bar Mane were below par.

Just gotta make sure we bounce back next game

I don't mind either of those two as #4 but no more for #3 ... not good enough. I guess I'll settle for Maguire. You convinced me

The big issue is he plays on the left side of the two, like VVD, would it benefit either of them playing on the opposite side, or have either of them performed consistently on the opposite side?
