Great pace from first Amoo .. cross too long, and then collected, beat his man and crossed by Ecclestone, GK just beat N'Gog to it. 30 secs later cleared off the line by their GK with his legs .. didn't see who from on this tiny screen.

HT 0-0.

As Modakay said : Amoo has unbelievable pace ! Ecclestone is no slouch either, and tricky with it.

Team performance has been very good, some players are feeling the intensive training in pre season though and it shows.

Decent game, our defence have been very good execpt..... you guessed it..... Degen.
Ayala has been head and shoulders above anyone else in the side. The young players have impressed more than the seniors, and players like Aqua and Lucas need to step up.

All in all, a decent game. Amoo and Eccelstone are very quick, and with the right passes played they'll create some chances. N'Gog looks like he's bulked up a bit during the summer, he's looking strong.

Great run and pass from Ngog to Aquilani who fins Amoo. Crosses headed down by Ecclestone(i think), ball ends up with Spearing outside the box, balloons it.

Hodgson says he is not going to pretend the hard work is over, just because he has made one popular signing on a shoestring budget.
"It's not going to be an overnight thing," the Reds boss admitted. "Last season was a very disappointing season for the club in every respect, culminating in a popular manager leaving.

"You don't dispel that with a couple of signings and I would never want to dupe the Liverpool public by telling them all is rosy now because Joe Cole has signed. "There's a lot more work to do and a lot more players needed."

Despite their failure to qualify for the Champions League last term Giggs, 36, believes that Liverpool always have the potential and is taking nothing for granted as he and United attempt to overtake the club's domestic title record in the forthcoming campaign.

He said: "Liverpool have a new manager and it's difficult to say what they are going to do.

"Two years ago they were close to winning the Premiership and you can never write them off.

"It just depends on how it goes. It is dangerous to write off a team with Liverpool's history.

"They have won the same amount of leagues as us. You cannot just dismiss that. They are a huge club and a massive team."
