Rafa's record with wingers is 100% shit, irrespective of their cost and provenance. So it would take a leap of faith to believe that the next one will buck the trend. Having said that, the best one he's managed was Yossi, who was £5m from West Ham. I know you don't like him, but he's inarguably been better than Babel, who cost twice as much and came from the more glamorous (though still 'small') Ajax Amsterdam.

Given that we are unlikely to have much money to spend this summer, I'm not quite sure what the alternative is to a 'cut-price' winger. We're hardly gonna spend £80m on prising Ribery from Bayern, are we? All I'm suggesting is that just because Leto, Gonzalez and Riera were rubbish to mediocre, does not in itself mean that Lee Chung-Yong would be.
