Liverpool to be awarded PL title.

I did see the Lyon president saying final league positions over the last 5 years should be used to determine this years leagues too.

Funny.. Lyon are 7th...
That would put them 3rd and into the champions league.

Maybe he and Brady can meet up in St Tropez or some other place like that and iron out the perfect plan which suits their bank balances....

Shearer now saying season should be null and void.

I think I'll officially give up following football if that happens.

You won't, but like me will feel that we are destined to never win the PL. My attention will be the to just support the club in cup competitons, and my interest in the league will be limited to just hoping we get a CL place at the end of it. Will not give a shit about the league for as long as I live, it will mean nothing.

There is zero chance of the league season being declared null & void, it simply defies logic, of which some seem to be failing on this forum (and some in the media/owners too, admittedly with ulterior motives). However let's start with these :

1) Legal actions by clubs would ensure next seasons leagues are unable to start on time as the PL and FL fight court battle after court battle against their own members.
2) Teams to be promoted/relegated can not be left undecided
3) Which teams are going to play in the CL/EL next season
4) Payments can not just be stopped. The TV companies have had most of this season's game allotment and accrued profits. There will and must be a division of prize money.

By far the most logical action would be the removal or postponement of the 2020 Euros to enable all of the leagues to complete this season. This solves all of the above issues and leaves UEFA to concentrate on the relatively minor headaches of how to complete the CL/EL and the FA to complete the FAC.

Maybe the Euros could take place at the same time as the ACN next January/February, with next season also extended into the Summer (only for games which can not be completed in Jan/Feb) and subsequently a later start to the following season to get us back on track.

The postponement of the Euros only helps if we're ready to restart the league in June. I think that's pretty unlikely.

There's a lot of defiant talk about how cancelling the season isn't an option, but I think it's quite probable. This thing is going to drag on for months and months. We just have to hope it's not fucking voided.

I'd say there's almost no chance of any of the cup competitions being completed.

Uefa apparently want 256m from leagues to delay the Euros.

Fuck me. It clearly HAS to be delayed anyway. Cheeky fucking cunts.

I’m shocked. The fine humanitarian organizations as FIFA and UEFA surley will have the best interest of the fans and clubs at heart.

Oh, thats right. They’re run by giant blood drinking lizards in human skin suits.

The answer is simple.

Clubs state they won't release players to do their international duty unless its moved. On masse. Its in every league & clubs interest to not give in to their demands.

By doing this they could have shot them self squarely in the face, never mind in the foot..

It would set a precedent that means clubs/leagues could get international tournaments moved or changed by acting together to do so.

Does anyone think we will vote to void the season? As a club and shareholder we will get a vote on this. Unless they offer something ridiculous like points are carried over from this season then we wouldn’t.

No, I dont think so.

Saw that the top and bottom clubs in the EFL are preparing lawsuits if the season gets voided. So the legal drama alone will be enough for this not to happen.

Sure, but these are extreme circumstances. By wanting 250 mill £ you are draining even more life out of clubs/leagues that are down to the bare bones when this is finished.

It will get moved today, so what the cost is in the end will be interesting to see.

The biggest hope we have for the season being completed is the obvious repercussions of clubs having to pay back TV revenue. But that obviously also applies to UEFA having responsibilities to TV revenue too. It's a fucking mess isn't it?

As said, unless you have an agenda, it'd be a disgrace to take the title away from us, yet it feels like there's a very realistic chance of that happening. I think I'd give up if it did, after waiting this long you'd think that sort of decision would be damaging beyond repair. It's all we'd hear at every ground for forever.

Annoying that we were so close to wrapping it up... Arsenal beating city and then 1 win away. I can't see it being void but I can see a decision being made for no more football to be played. I still think they'll look to find a middle ground that is matches behind closed doors and if that gets us the final win or two that we need then so be it.

Anyone got a highlights video of this season so far? I need it to cheer myself up

Wouldn't that be like watching a blockbuster movie but getting off early and missing the last 10 minutes?

Fuck UEFA, and FIFA - what can they do against the national governments across Europe ? - they are big enough to have their own contingency plans - and if they have not then they can fuck right off, only solution for them is to delay events until majority of governments are ready to host these events. They should be treated like every other business that is suffering at the moment.

If they go ahead with games behind closed doors, & refuse to let pubs screen them (or pubs are all closed) & the game where we could win it/lift the trophy is streamed, I'll see if I can get Bex to take the kids out, & anyone who wants to come round to ours can do. Not quite a pub, but I've got a 100" screen & a huge fridge for beer, & watching it with a group has gotta be the next best thing

100" you say, but fail to mention if you measure it along or across the screen!!😀

One interesting nugget to chuck into this will be players contracts and the transfer window. A small number of players (eg Lallana) are contracted to June 30th Transfer window is supposed to open July 1st (I think).

I hold Bruce Grobbelaar personally responsible for this mess....

He literally pissed off the footballing gods that even after pulling off a near perfect league form, we are denied the league.
