General question to everyone - we know we will sign some players this summer - that is certain this time round despite @Frogfish / @StevieM not liking that sort of pussy shit signing stuff (as they probably still dream of being called up to play for Liverpool and any new signings just gets in the way of those long term dreams and aspirations).
Anyway - do you think Slot will default to the best of Dutch ? and if he does do you think that the board (Edwards/Hughes and co) will not allow that ? I mean say if VVD stays then we will have quite a few Dutch players on our books and they do have a reputation of being quite mouthy when things don't go their way.
Also those of you who have followed Slot in the past (I know very few of you) - is he quite open minded in terms of the type of players he wants to sign that will improve our team. Does he have a history of signing African/South American players or mostly those from Europe ?
I ask because I think Slot rates ability more than mindset unlike Klopp who wanted predominately good engine based players and non-dickheads. Will Slot take chances on a dickheads ?
Sounds like a yeast infection in the making. So… from that I’m taking that you like “pussy shit”.
Weirdo.
Bradley is fine. After all, we started off with Trent and didn’t do so shabbily with him.I reckon we just make Bradley first choice.
Either way, I think it'll be something like that.
It's clear to see the kind of players Slot doesn't favor. He doesn't like "one-dimensional" players, and Endo falls into that category.
When it comes to midfielders and attackers, Slot prefers technical and intelligent players. Jota seems to tic many boxes for Slot.
Which raises the question: how can Slot appreciate someone like Jota but not Chiesa or Harvey?
I think the answer lies in physicality.
Jota works incredibly hard and isn't afraid to get a bit scrappy, which might explain why he gets injured all the time. Harvey, on the other hand, puts in the effort but struggles due to his lack of pace and smaller stature, often finding himself second best in duels.
As for Chiesa, he's more of a flair player. Remember how he was pushed off the pitch against PSV and just stood there, staring at the ref?
I think we may just have to reconcile that Cheesie is the latest in a long list of early managerial signings that, retrospectively, make no sense:We also have to be mindful that the one signing we made, that has joined the squad, is a player Slot clearly had zero interest in and the club signed him anyway. It's hopefully only going to be footnote in history, but we are right to be cautious about it as it's all we have to go off an far and we saw the mess of unalligned approach under Rodgers.

Other than Italians its not important what their national identity is. Can they do the job, and if they can, then get them in.Edwards and Hughes won’t allow Slot to sign the "best of the Dutch/Dutch league", just look at where that approach got Ten Hag. However I think we can expect signings who have the ability to play the Dutch style of football.
The shift from Endo to Gravenberch should be seen as both symbolic and indicative of the approach across all positions. Technical ability and familiarity with specific systems and patterns of play in the build-up will be top priorities.
Aa for whether Slot will more willing to take a punt on a dickhead, no idea, but my money would say no. He's shown himself to be pretty ruthless in terms of his team selections and I get the sense that a minor incident could lead to a player being out the side for a month or more. It probably just wouldn't be worth it for all parties.

I will work myself into a frenzy if we fail to add to the defence. Its the area I highlighted in Jan and probably before that. But now that Bluebell has been made aware of his existence - it’s important to whip yourself up into a frenzy if we don’t sign him!!!!
And Cheesie has been feeding Slot from the same source this seasonRumour was that Ferri was brought in to be a dressing room informant for Houllier

I didn't - I was talking about very early signings by new managers which can, in the context, be forgiven. It was semi serious. You missed off Sean Dundee
Yeah... slow and shite... just perfectI really don't see us spending the £200+ mill required this summer.
Unless...
We also sell players for at least £100 mill.
And regarding Kane. As much as I dislike him, he'd be perfect for us, but he's not worth it. Not at 32. His wages would be astronomical as well.

A good offer for Harvey Elliott would be accepted.
