Liverpool look certain to fall short in their attempts to sign €10m Brazilian midfielder Lucas “Marcelinho” after an AC Milan technical director met with the player’s agent to discuss taking the player to the Italian giants.
‘Pool scouts have been tracking the Sao Paolo attacking midfielder for the last year and were hoping to push through a move in January as his recent international appearances have seen his profile grow rapidly.
Lucas’ agent and Sao Paolo are more agreeable to Milan’s offer of waiting until the summer to finalise the deal.
Liverpool have also made a move for 15 year old FC Basel youngster Nicholas Hunziker this week and look likely to bring the striker to Anfield when he turns 16 as the new scouting network at the club looks to improve the youth set up by bringing in more European players
