Yeah i agree with you Bren that this was Rafa's call.

If G&H have made the decision to get rid of Benitez come the end of the season though, you'd hope that maybe who goes or stays wouldn't be Rafa's call to make anymore. especially considering that Riera wants to leave due to falling out with the manager.
 
I think if we get £6mill for Dock then we're doing well. He was never worth £8mill in the first place, and certanly did nothing , either on or off the pitch, to increase his value.

With regard to Rafa being here or not after the summer, I feel that the negotiations with Mascher are far more significant

well I wasn't going to say it. seriously how many goals would babel get if he played pretty much every game, you can mock his touch and technique but he is definately a goal threat something riera most certainly is not. babel and riera's goals and assists were comparable last season despite babel having a fraction of the playing time.
 
He warmed on me because he's technically excellent and seldom loses the ball or fucks up, but in the long run he was never going to be good enough.

Him leaving is a concern, though, because not one single Liverpool player wishes to play there, or is as good as Riera in that position. So all in all it's a bit shit really.

Pretty much, mate.

We now need a whole new left side on fuck all money, with plenty of other positions to fill.

Riera is worth more to us than the bid we're receiving, and so it will prove.

A better player than the comments in this thread are giving him credit for, but not a great player. He's worth more than 6M too, but given we were in the position of wanting/looking to sell after his comments, we were never gonna get much for him.

Average player who spouted his gob off in public and therefore deserves to be shown the door. Given our current predicament in the the league, losing him now isn't that much of a big deal.

He was definitely NOT right to call the club that. Regardless of the fact that he's right. He's lucky a suspension + transfer is all he got. Should have been frozen out. We would have received 6 M in the summer anyways.

It sickens me how much money Benitez has wasted. The amount of money he has blown on average duds as squad filler and then moved them on is ridiculous. Why not just pool a fair bit of money together and sign top quality instead of signing squad players who won't be here in 18 months time?
