Your frustration seems to be with the fact that the club sacked Rafa in favour of Hodgson; there are many who'd have liked better than him, but the reason why they're better is because they wouldnt touch clubs like ours.

The only other alternative would be to kep Rafa, and your views in the past make that a little surprising; even if he's the better manager on paper. There's a good chance Hodgson will mess up as you'll predict. But there's every chance that keeping Rafa would have been equally, if not more disastrous.

Your own posts make that clear.

Hodgson's transfers so far will never touch the best of Rafa's dealings when he spent big, but equally they'll hopefully never touch the depths of Lucarse, Drossena, the Purple Shit-house, Dungheap, et. al.
