Someone just pointed out to me that he is on FORTY goals this season so far, with three months to go.
So i did a bit of checking and this is fucking astounding...

Career totals Games 163 Goals112 Assists 52.

Thats 164 goals and assists in 163 games.

Lionel Messi scores or creates a goal EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Is that not unbelievable.

Wasn't there some thing about him getting given shit to help him grow, that would fuck him up long term?

Thats almost his scoring record in his entire career. Wiki (prob just league games) has him as 22 goals in 206 games across 11 clubs. Shocking for a striker...if anyone lived off the reputation of his father (bar Calum Best) then he was the one.

Never scored more than 5 goals for a team, and that was Linfield.
 
What impressed me most yesterday - besides the goals which we just 'expect' - is that Aguero made a bursting run and 'lil Leo Messi' tracked him down, shouldered him off the ball, skipped the ball by another Atleti player and passed the ball to a Barca player ... around the Barca box. That's a star who works for his team ... He's the best player in the world.

He was terrible in the WC ... disappeared ... You ever Maradona disappearing in World Cups? I know he really works well with a pacey fullback behind him (Alves), but he's gotta at least be able to drive the Argies forward to start being serious considered for Maradona's title ...
