Fuck me, that's a dire side and Kuyt is the only one with any sort of goalscoring record.
you should be more concerned about the goals conceded record for those three centre backs

Were you expecting a different one with different players?

Not a lot of attacking prowess, agreed.

If you get a good stream Ryan, pay attention to the faces of stokes players as they walk out. All 11 of them will have freshly formed wrinkles on the insides of their cheeks, due to fits off uncontrollable laughter when the manager read out our line up to them. Some of them may even have tears in their eyes when they walk out.

Suit yourself. Remember on a tv you can't open up another window and surf the net or do some other work to alleviate the boredom

I'll probably be asleep before the game starts anyway.

Of course Agger's injured. He's made of porridge.

from the BBC's preview of the game...................

Daniel Agger has played every minute of Liverpool's last seven league games, his best run at the club.

I'm not surprised Aquilani's not playing.

Away to Stoke is the exact type of match his tippy-tappy, non-tackling game doesn't suit. Plus, he's done fuck all so far anyway.

I posted in one of the threads, with him playing so many minutes midweek, it was always likely he'd be benched. I bet Rafa is forced into a change in the first half.

Tuncay Fit To Face Liverpool
Posted on: Sat 16 Jan 2010

STOKE CITY were boosted by the presence of Turkish star Tuncay for their Barclays Premier League match against Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium.

The £5 million striker passed a late fitness test on his hamstring injury and took his place in the starting line-up alongside Mamady Sidibe.

Consequently, manager Tony Pulis made only change to the side that beat Fulham in their last Barclays Premier League outing eleven days ago with former Liverpool player Salif Diao coming into the starting line-up to replace Liam Lawrence.

One setback was that Striker James Beattie was unable to take his place on the substitute's bench after failing a late fitness test on a knee injury.

As expected, there was a long list of notable absentees for Liverpool - namely Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Glenn Johnson and Yossi Benayoun.

Central defender Daniel Agger joined that list of casualties, but Rafael Benitez was at least boosted by the return of midfielder Javier Mascherano.

Recent signing Maxo Rodriguez was among the Liverpool substitutes.

CITY (4-4-2): Sorensen; Huth, Shawcross, Faye, Higginbotham; Delap, Diao, Whitehead, Etherington; Tuncay, Sidibe. Subs: Simonsen, Whelan, Lawrence, Pugh, Collins, Fuller, Wilkinson.

LIVERPOOL(4-5-1): Reina, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Insua; Kuyt, Degen, Lucas, Mascherano, Aurelio; N'Gog. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Riera, Rodriguez, Spearing, Darby, Pacheco.

REFEREE: Lee Mason.

Who's Maxo Rodriguez?

Flat back four with two fullbacks as wingers and two defensive midfielders. It's not going to be fun but I think we'll win regardless. Hope Riera and Maxi get on at some point.

One of the worst starting XI's of the last decade

Well done Benitez. What a squad you have built

We will still win. It is the Way Of Benitez: when you are under pressure, and have fucked everything up, and the next game could get you sacked, you win

And prolong the misery

if that team even manages to create a chance against Stoke i'll be surprised and delighted
You're easy to please then. No wonder you want Rafa to stay

This is going to be a seriously painful game to watch.

Here's what we've got...

No Gerrard, Torres, Benayoun, form, confidence, or passion.
And we're away to fucking Stoke - home of a shitcunt manager, shit faux-passion support, archaic football, and I'm jetlagged to fuck.

It's a cert to end 1-1.
