Will Aquilani even play anyway? After being out so long and then putting in such a long stint midweek, I wouldn't be surprised to see him benched, despite our current woes.
Nope Mash will come back from suspension and Lucas will partner him in midfield.
That is the most sane thing to do really. Aquilani has still a long way to go I'm affraid and an away game at Stoke after 120 minutes on Wednesday is not going to help him settle.

I'd love to see that many kids on the bench KHL, but would you send any of them on to be manhandled by the Stoke defence? No way, they'd get murdered out there.

For me it should be (assuming fitness)

Ha. That just cheered me Brendan. I know it shouldn't, I know it should depress me but I did chortle.
It is very good in fairness.

Fair play Brendan made me smile.

I think Fabio is a cert away to stoke, to hold Insua's hand for him. Why not just play Aurelio himself?
Who else would be play on the flanks Dave ? Babel ? Nah. Riera ? Not fit. Other options ? None. Unless we play Maxi left, Kuyt right and Pacheco just behind Ngog. But that's a huge lack of experience attacking wise

I know he has to play Saturday with injuries etc. I just meant in general Sean, Aurelio should be first choice LB in my opinion. I have no problem playing Fabio LW against united for example. He can give Insua valuable cover in an important tight game. However, we still have pace in other parts of the pitch with Gerrard and Torres usually. Come Saturday, all pace will be removed from the team and I worry how will we make their defence work unless the cohesiveness of our passing improves in the space of a few days. Babel would give us pace alright but sadly he hasn't figured out how to use it effectively as of yet on the left. It's leads me to my next question, not that he has pace but where on earth is Albert Riera hiding out?

Rafael Benitez is hopeful of having Pepe Reina available for selection at Stoke City on Saturday.

The Liverpool goalkeeper missed the midweek Cup defeat to Reading with a slight knock, but trained with his teammates on Friday.

"Pepe did some light training today and we will make a decision tomorrow," said Benitez.

The Reds' boss, who is now without Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun following the Reading clash, has revealed Albert Riera will return to the squad for the trip to the Britannia Stadium.

But Martin Kelly and Nabil El Zhar are both still sidelined with injury problems.

With the injuries mounting at Melwood, Benitez says the club are still looking into the possibility of adding another new face to the squad before the transfer window closes.

He said: "We have Maxi now and we are really pleased. We are still working hard to find good players.

"In this market it is very difficult but we have to keep looking to see if we can find someone."

I've also heard that Babel wont travel either.

They should make the lazy fucker travel and help lug the bags off the coach at least.

I've thought about it plenty of times this season and out of loyalty and bottled it.

Wish I hadn't.

The amount of times Liverpool have let me down in the past, they can fuck off with loyalty!

£10 @ 4/1 methinks. Pays for the weekend.

I've won a bit of late and then placed £100 on us to beat Reading with a two-goal margin or more.

That was stupid.

Ive been told this is the team tommorrow, im not to confident with this though as the info hasn't come from who i normally get it from. See rafa is well and truely going for it with 7 defensive players. If this is the starting line up.

Carragher....The Greek.....Skrtel........Agger
Maxi.........Mascherano....Lucas........Aurelio

Hmmmm... I wouldn't be surprised if that was his logic, re the Greek, given their strength and our vulnerability from setpieces. It ain't pretty though. Maybe it'll be three at the back? with Carra (shudder) and Aurelio as wingbacks?

I have won quite a bit this season backing against us in almost every match that Lucas starts. The latest one below from wednesday was a £100 lay of Pool win v Reading. Unfortunately it's easy money.

Four CB's in the back four? Shit.
It is getting to the point that when I see Skrtel's name in the team I immediately feel pessimistic about our chances.
He's a liability.

Actually I should have typed that I staked £26 as that was my potential liability - £100 was the profit (£95.10 after commission).

Blood money Pete. Up to you but I would never be able to actually bet against us.

Lucarse is clearly a massive useless cunt, so it is always a shame to see his name in the starting XI, but it is some small consolation to see that fat, slow, useless retard Insua out of the team

But let's face it, we're as dreadful as we have ever been in the last 10 years
