the 16/17 mill we spent on aspas and alberto could have been put to better use.

Wasn't it more like £14.5m? Not that it matters like. Aspas annoyed the shit out of me last night, he's lazy. Alberto hasn't exactly had a chance yet.
Aspas, yes. Alberto still hasn't been given a chance.
Signings like Ilori and Alberto are always exciting imo. Tomorrows talent we hope.
Aspas is another potential shrewd signing. Not a major fee and with luck a sound investment.
I have no problem with this what baffles me greatly however is how we have seemingly completely overlooked the fact we lack creativity in midfield. We simply doesn't have a balanced enough squad to spend close to £20M on development players and cheeky bets alone.
I think it is a massive mistake no matter how good Ilori, Alberto and Aspas turns out. Hope it won't harm us too much before Jan where this must be assessed promptly imo.
Was thinking about Willian or Henrikh though.Uh oh I think this is about to turn into another Bramble thread.
I hate to do this, but Ericson looks like he cost £25M more than Aspas, but he actually only cost £5M more. Definitely signed the wrong player there.
dont be afraid to state the truth.
Yeah but it's like four games in. Now, I do realise that you're renowned for being a bit of an impatient, ultra critical poster, but they have time to come good. People said the same with other players like Henderson, perseverance & patience eventually paid off, so sitting here four games in and being all smug about it and final in your damnation of the player is a bit premature.
He does look shit though.
What fucked me off most last night was he looked out of his depth, but he was doing nothing to help the team, he stood in the defensive positions but did no closing, no hassling. Compare that to someone like Sturridge coming on late and chasing down everything (as he did last season), that's what he should have been doing. It's forgivable having a slow start, it's insulting coming on and looking disinterested.
