Anyone else worried about how many people are giving him a vote of confidence?

Kenny Dalglish will not quit as Liverpool manager, according to former team-mate Mark Lawrenson.
Liverpool won the Carling Cup and are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but the 2-0 defeat by Newcastle was their sixth in seven Premier League games.
Lawrenson, the BBC Sport pundit, told BBC Radio 5 live: "I don't think he'd walk away.
"I don't believe he'll be sacked. It's a poor run, but the new owners are not going to make knee-jerk decisions."
Liverpool, who have have slipped to eighth in the league, meet city rivals Everton in the last four of the FA Cup at Wembley on 14 April.
Lawrenson added: "They could win the FA Cup this season, which would be two trophies, and that would be a strange thing to be sacked for.
Did you know?

Liverpool have gone behind in 14 games this season and lost 78.6% of those games. Only Bolton, Swansea and West Bromwich have a more unimpressive percentage after falling behind in games
"As a manager in the Premier League, it's a crisis if you lose a couple of games.
"They have [Aston] Villa at home at the weekend and I hate saying it's a must-win, but it is. I think he [Dalglish] will be fine, but at any level, you have to win games."
Lawrenson pointed to the lack of impact made by Andy Carroll, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson, big-money signings brought in by Dalglish for a combined total of almost £85m.
"The biggest problem is Adam, Downing, Carroll and Henderson between them have contributed six league goals," said Lawrenson. "You should be looking at 25-30 goals between them.
"Adam hasn't done it but the four of them haven't. Andy Carroll hasn't been the same player - it's the old 'take the boy out of Newcastle'. He's not been the same."
Speaking on Match of the Day 3, Lawrenson added: "We all thought in the summer that they had added more quality.
"At the moment, they are not defending particularly well. But they are absolutely desperate for a goal-scorer."

Worried about people backing him? No, I'm glad they are. I hope he has another season to try turn things around.

His future will hang on the FA Cup.

Win it and he'll rightly be given more time. If he doesn't then they'll be few complaints if he's asked to stand aside.

I think that you're probably right. Not that the latter option is the right thing to do. He needs more time but I realise there's few of us of that train of thought

It's sad that we as fans seem to have become really impatient. I'm not sure when it happened.

I will be very disappointed in the owners if they look for their third manager in eighteen months.
It is a new project, but with familair faces at the helm.
If they don't give it proper amount of time to succeed or fail then we will turn into Chelsea but without the money.
This is my opinion of course and I appear to be an idiot, like a few other posters on here.

No doubts at all creeping in mate?

Of course there are doubts. We're in 9th place and have relegation form.

But we have the most important person to ever be associated with the club, in charge. The man who has given more than most to the club. The man who understands the club more than most of us do.

If he isn't given a chance to turn things to turn things around, to rebuild his reputation, I'll believe the last bit of the soul of the club will be gone. That is, if there is even any left now.

Of course, that's only natural but I've seen a lot of positive things as well. Some of the things Kenny has done have frustrated me too. I really wished we'd gone out and bought a goal scorer in Jan, a mobile one with good movement who can pull defenders out of position. I wish he'd play Carroll more and let the lad find some form - a bit part role isn't going to do that. I do think chopping and changing managers isn't the right thing to do - we do need to learn from last summers transfer strategy though. I think another season is in order. For those who are calling for his head need to think about the impact of getting rid of him right now - that's only going to compound issues.

I don't think it will compound issues that much unless it takes a huge chunk out of our summer transfer budget to be honest.

I've seen very little evidence this season that this team is on an upward trajectory. If anything it's getting worse and Kenny seems at a loss at how to reverse that trend. All very worrying.

That said, I don't mind if he gets another season largely because I'm just totally apathetic towards it all right now and have no faith in this club getting any big decisions right.

So let's see what Kenny can do with another summer. Next season largely depends on our summer transfer activity regardless of who is managing us because the current playing roster, if we are being completely honest, probably belongs in midtable.

See i desperately want him to turn it around mate, but then i crap myself thinking about the long term damage another shite transfer window could do.

Ah well, when in doubt go with your heart i guess. Kenny stays for me.

and it will, kenny and the whole backroom staff will cost a fortune to move on. we really need to stick for now and hope we get a good hand in the summer (to use a card metaphore).

If he sells some players he bought in i.e. Adam i'd have faith he understand where he has gone wrong and has an idea of how to change it.

For the avoidance of doubt and to invite new and ongoing discussion rather than living in the past, from today's live webchat with the once popular, but now derided...

Chris Bascombe:
"The club has made it clear that for as long as FSG own the club, Benitez won't be returning as manager."

So there.

We don't know what the contract situation is like and I don't believe the entire backroom staff would be replaced.

I hope he gets next season too, and realises and learns from his mistakes more.

We obviously need summer investment but we have no idea how much is available for purchases. Or, more importantly, how much of it they will be prepared to let Kenny spend.

I think that's the second time I've seen you hint about ownership. Now you are about to be unburdened by site ownership I think you should celebrate your freedom by adding ramping up the gossip.
