This happend, making it we needed to win by a clear 2 goals.. (an exact scenario that could happen against Napoli)



Then after a couple of goals this happend;



Then in May this happend;




Point is, we always do things the hard way.. Its the Liverpool way.. We will be fine..
 
Got to admit I'm nervous about this game. Not as much as if I were a Napoli fan though. Come on you Red men. 😎
 
I'm already over it. We don't have the power and drive that we had last season. And Ancelotti is too smart to give us much of a chance. We should use a completely second-string team for the Europa League, and concentrate on chasing City in the league and trying to win the FA Cup.

We won't do that though (second string team) - though I'd like to see a blend of our veterans and players like CuJones.

I know what you mean, especially after having got to the FinaI last season - doing that twice in a row would be some feat all right. And I largely agree about the Europa League, subject to further consideration if we were to drop into it and get close to that final.

Just a small rider though. I recall thinking similar thoughts about Ancelotti at half-time in Istanbul in 2005. Just saying....

I'm not too worried about it, actually... We need to beat a half-decent team 1-0 at Anfield to make the next round.

Yes, it won't be easy, but we're a bloody good team (who aren't playing well, granted) with a top defense now (especially at home) and if we're even close to as good as we think we are, this is well within our capability.

I think that when we wake up the next morning, we'll be full of the usual "Feck, we always do it the hard way, don't we...?" stuff, having won by a couple and made it through. We'll be ok.
 
The Europa League final is in Baku, Azerbaijan. Normally when the finals are held in far off places, we often make it there. That is what is making me pessimistic about the Napoli game.

Exactimundo.. piece of piss... We haven't conceded many at anfield either. Only PSG scored two, Cardiff the other..
 
Some of the defeatism in this thread is puke inducing.

I'm not sure we'll win 1-0 or by 2 clear but sure as hell we have a great chance of doing so. It's Anfield and it's the CL.
