Lambert on his way..

I think both points (Used in the wrong way / overawed and out of depth) apply somewhat. He didn't look confident pre-season and that carried over into his albeit fleeting early appearances. When he did get a mini-run we were lumping it up to him ad nauseum with little support, but he also looked immobile and caught offside far too easily.

He just didn't look right for us.

I don't think its really worth over analysing It. You can say he was used incorrectly and there is a lot of truth in that, but good and talented players will usually stand out, even in glimpses, regardless of tactics or systems. If not on the pitch, in training at least. The club were seeking to bomb him out 4 months after purchase, which I think says a lot. Huge mistake all round, and nobody comes out of it with any pride.

Shame it didn't work out, but Lambert is a far better player than a lot of people think...granted he's probably not Liverpool standard. Great Pro, and a good guy by all accounts. Wish him well.

Did I miss something?
As far as I can remember he was a big useless lump of concrete.
He was harshly treated and I'd have loved it to work out for him but we could all see after about 5 minutes into his debut he was shit.

I wouldn't call him a great pro. He turned up horrifically unfit for pre season, and it just carried on from there. In that respect he is pretty fucking far from professional. I think he normally relies on games to keep fit, and without them the result warranted putting him down in an act of kindness

Not sure what he could be getting at. He kind of got a bit shafted for game time, but he wasn't very good when played. I hope he didn't actually talk to The Lying Rag. They always write that though. I got it from F365.

Lambert completed a £3million move to Albion on Friday and scored twice in a friendly win over Bristol Rovers just hours later.
The 33-year-old started just seven Premier League games after joining from Southampton last summer - and has hinted he was not happy with his lack of chances.
He told The Lying Rag: "I've got a lot of feelings, to be honest.
"But I'm not going to get into it right now. I don't think it's the right time.
"There is plenty of time to say exactly how I feel but at the minute, I'm just enjoying the fact I'm a West Brom player."
Lambert's lack of playing time for the Reds saw him lose his place in the England squad, but he has set his sights on winning a recall ahead of the Euro 2016 finals next summer.
"I will never give up," Lambert added. "My character and personality won't allow it. No one expects me to achieve that but you have to believe in yourself.
"If I have a season like I did at Southampton, there's no reason why I can't get back in.
"You've got to remember, it's only two years since I scored 15 league goals and then 13 goals in a season.
"I've just got to make sure I get back to that.
"I feel like I'm going to play here. If I do, I'll get chances. And if I get the chances, I think I will score goals."

What's he talking to them for?

What usually happens is that there's an open presser, with all the hacks there from all the papers. The player or manager is asked a question, he answers it, and some papers just print it as from the presser, while the S*n typically likes to say 'as he told The S*n' because their hack happened to be in the room. I don't know but I assume that's what happened here.
