Konoplyanka (a tiny bit NSFW, sorry)

Voronin will sing the praises of the city and club to Kono after the wonderful time he had here anyway.

OH.

The Ukrainian reds fans say there isnt a credible link to Spurs yet, so I dont think we have to "panic" just yet.
Seeing as he's a very good player other clubs will be interested though and lets hope we can pull this off.

According to some sources, Ukraine is on the brink of civil war. The club should offer jobs for his family as leverage in negotiations.

Right... so what's going on then? All the fees seem more or less the same amount. Spurs have offered £15m, United have offered 19m Euro (15.7m) and we've offered between £14m-£16m.

Are other teams really just trying to bomb us out of the water, or are we simply going for players that are so high profile regarding rising talents, that we're just not the only big club in for them?

It seems pretty ludicrous that for all the talent in the World, three of the potential top four in England end up going for this lad in the last two days of the window, completely out of the blue.

Every tine I see his name, I think...

Bono-ya-wanka

This makes me sad 🙁

Fuckity fuck...

Liverpool are holding talks with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk over the potential signing of winger Yevhen Konoplyanka.
Sources have said Liverpool are “testing the water” to see if Dnipro are willing to sell now as the 24-year-old winger was initially identified as a target for the summer.
Contrary to reports, Liverpool’s head of recruitment Dave Fallows has not travelled out to Dnipropetrovsk and managing director Ian Ayre is believed to be handling negotiations, although not in Ukraine.

However, with less than two days remaining in the January transfer window it may prove a task too far to push through a deal which would likely cost Liverpool €20 million.
The Reds have been given some hope it remains a possibility after the Ukraine international’s father Oleg said there was a potential deal in the offing.
“I do not want to say specifically but the information about a transfer to the English club is true,” he told Ukrainian media outlet Tribuna.
“He can change club later this week. We do not consider offers from Ukraine.”

I think the best way to treat twitter is to only believe certain accounts/articles, the rest just take popular opinion and create a story out of it. The accounts I find which are right more than wrong are dimarzio, Guardian accounts, Times accounts, Echo accounts and BBC accounts. Quite a few of those are reporting this (all but dimarzio), which is why I think it has some legs, whether it'll happen or not is another question, but there is definitely interest.

Ben Smith seems to be pretty spot on re whats going on:

@BenSmithBBC: @thesmigger Ian Ayre is the one trying to close the deal out

We go home and then fax them the official bid with 8 million on it. Someone else signs Kono.

Disclaimer: I made that up.
