It also mentioned on there we have been in contact with them for a couple of weeks and some other PL team for a couple of months.

It's obviously because he's saying something they don't want to hear. If he said that we were 100% getting him, he'd be a valued ITK.

Luzhny was not exactly a success in England himself, was he? His opinion seems to be based more on stereotypes about the English game than any kind of real analysis. If anyone looked like a headless chicken, it was him when he played for Arsenal.
And making this kind of negative argument based on one game, which was disastrous for the whole team (and in which Konoplyanka was still one of our better players) just smacks of some kind of personal agenda.
