Reds could re-ignite interest in bringing player to Anfield.

Liverpool could revive a move for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk’s Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer but the club will consider alternatives before moving for the left winger.

The Reds almost signed Konoplyanka on transfer deadline day in January but the move broke down at eleventh hour after Dnipro’s owner refused to sign the relevant paperwork.

Tottenham have since been linked with the Ukraine international, who scored the winning goal in Dnipro’s 1-0 Europa League last-32 first leg win over Spurs.

But Dnipro chief director Andriy Rusol has asserted that he is “1000 per cent sure that Liverpool will attempt to buy Yevhen again in the summer.” "But he will not be exploding in anyone's hands", he said.

However, the Daily Mail says Liverpool will consider alternatives before bidding for the 24-year-0ld, who is expected to cost in the region of £15m.

Yay! We obviously want this guy. Let's do this shit before Ross shuts it down...

Until Konoplyanka, I didn't appreciate what the phrase 'explosive winger' really meant.

Dnipro President: "Not criticizing Liverpool but if I'm interested in a player, like they were in final days, I'd do it 1 or 2 weeks before"
"I talked with Konoplyanka. Of course, he had regrets, but [move to Liverpool] failed purely due to technical reasons"
"Konoplyanka to #LFC failed due to technical reasons. I'm ready to let any player leave; we can't break his sports career"
"Konoplyanka? On the final day, Liverpool failed to do a deal. They failed themselves. It was purely technical reasons"
"I'm talking with Tottenham President. He wants Konoplyanka. We're negotiating & may even be close to signing a contract"
"If Spurs want Konoplyanka, I'd happily sell. London life is better than Liverpool. Spurs' interest is strong & advanced"

I'd tried my level best to translate his quotes which were in Ukrainian language.
I can only assume the reason for Dnipro owner's words on Liverpool could be because we would've pissed him off to death on deadline-day.
But we 'really' don't know what actually happened between Ayre and Dnipro owner on deadline-day. Owner sounds so pissed & like a dick-head.

Sounds like he's trying to bait us out to be honest. If Spurs interest was strong and advanced, I doubt he would be talking about it.

It looks as though they're trying to get us back to the table with those quotes. I wonder if we're still interested after the January shenanigans.

We probably are but would want a reduced fee due to him being a further 6 months down on his current deal. Think its 12 months left this summer.
Spurs are probably interested though. They want everyone.

How is all the shit going on in the Ukraine affecting the football league over there?

Without wishing to sound too mercenary, is there anyone else that would want rescuing from their "Ukrainian hell"?

I haven't really seen much of him so have no strong opinion one way or the other. I suppose that's why the prospect of signing him is a little meh for me.

Admittedly I haven't seen much of him either, and the little I have seen was for Ukraine so probably not a good barometer but still not too excited about the prospect of signing him.

i think he looks good, but we shouldnt be baited into signing anyone, there'll be a long list of brilliant players that would bum skullys dog to get in our team

Dnipro's playing a bit of a dangerous game and risk losing him on a free. His contract expires in 15 months from now I think, so any club wanting him could conceivably talk to his agent (yes, sneaky) to work out a deal for him to reject a new contract or transfer in the summer, and then sign a pre-contract in winter with promises / commitments of a huge signing-on fee.

Could be why the president is trying to smoke out all offers right now. If he's that shit hot, I'd assume it won't be just us and Spurs interested. Chelsea could use another couple of players to stick on the end of their bench to accompany Salah, for example.

If Plank himself has been watching the PL there is only one logical choice for him between ourselves and Spurs !
