Klopp Needs To Loook At Himself

I honestly think that Klopp would rather stick with a system that isn't working, in the knowledge that he will eventually have the players to make it work, than temporarily shift to something else and undo/damage his favoured style and system.

We can disagree with him doing this and not having a plan B, but I think that's the crux of the issue. He'd rather take a temporary hit for the greater good.

I’d like him to take a pragmatic approach but he won’t. I would also like him to be ruthless with the squad too. Tell the transfer department that we need to accept bids for players when they’re starting to drop off, not when it’s far too late. I would’ve binned off Firmino in the summer of 19, Keita 20, Mané 21 and Salah 22. Bar Keita, we would’ve got top dollar for each of those players then and could’ve invested in the squad. Like we used to do.

Should we just sack him and appoint Southgate then? Seems the pragmatic and ruthless type and definitely aggressive enough to demand money off these tight bastards.

Southgate is neither. He looks like a grandad that still uses his wardrobe which was fille from Topman.

I thought it was soft. You see them given and not given, I didn't think it was a foul, you barge each other running for the ball, it doesn't make it a foul. I thought the bigger issue that caused the stumble was Konate trying to head the ball into the ground. Either way it's semantics. We didn't lose because of that decision, we lost because we were fucking diabolical. I'd be embarrassed to try to defend any of it, we were lucky it didn't finish 5-1 or 6-1.

It's rare that I disagree with you, mark, let alone as completely as I do about most of this. Sorry but the whole concept of a "soft penalty" is nonsense - the rules say naff all about anything like that. Is it a foul? If yes, a freekick should be awarded - it matters not one bit whether you see them given or not given and it also doesn't matter what Konate did or didn't do. If the rules themselves need changing, change them. Until then apply them as they stand, and incidentally I don't buy the "you'd see loads of freekicks given every game" argument - players and managers would adapt, because they'd have no choice. I'm not denying that we were poor BTW, but that's a different matter altogether.

Im guessing you’re asking me and not @Modo

Nobody right now. He has more than enough credits in the bank and I can see him turning it around.
Yes sorry Momo didn't mean to insult you that way.

Would you sell Salah tomorrow for 100m if an anonymous bid came in?

And have you given up on Nunez already to say fuck it Benfica take him back for 30m?

Yes and yes.

Nunez has no credits and Mo has used up most of his over the last year.

Ok - I’ll look forward to either your condemnation the next time we get a goal for the slightest of physical contact or the mental gymnastics required to justify it.

No gymnastics required mate. As long as other teams are getting the benefit of similar incidents I'll celebrate such a goal as I would any other. The playing-field needs to be level for all teams and the way to ensure that is NOT to pick and choose when, or even whether, to bother with the rules.

you should stop. go for a walk or something

Stop what Tomas?

Was asking my dear friend Momo a relatively straight forward LFC related question.

Are you angry at me because I didn't ask you? Would you like me to ask you a question Tomas?

Angry? Not at all. But you seem almost manic with your posting.
But at ´least you have stopped using caps. So there is progress.

If we are getting a couple of players in Jan to suit the current system then yeh that’s cool. If it’s going to be summer, then no.

Football without Origi is nothing.

So on that front, THERE IS PLENTY TO BE UPSET ABOUT.

I see the way he's firing Milan into title and European contention and I'm jealous.

I don´t agree - he had his role to play, and played it very well. Not everyone is happy with such a role.
In his final season he made 18 appearances, mostly at the end of games. Then he left on a free.

Supersubs of Divock's proven quality in that role are like hen's teeth and I'd have liked to keep him, but he got an offer of regular first team footy from another elite club and understandably felt he had to go for it. I wished him well then and I still do, provided it doesn't end up costing us if we play Milan one day.

How easy is it though, to move deadwood on?
We seem to have struggled or stopped doing so lately, which leads to missing out on funds to reinvest.

Hard I’d imagine but my suggestions could be classed as club legends. Not exactly deadwood. Apart from Keita.

God forbid we don't sign a midfielder in the next 3-4 weeks.

This summer we'd have 1 hell of a recruiting job.

We'd need 3 midfielders. That's 150-200m with no resale on any players.

Yes, I was not being precise enough, but players who are getting on rather. Firmino, Hendo.
Others like Ox, Keita.

But the point remains, how and when can it be done and done well?

The biggest downside of Liverpool having a poor run of form, is that it moves the loonometer for this site massively to the right.

This is driven by two factors:

1) The resident loons increase their normal post rate by about 10x.
2) Otherwise "reasonable" posters start posting loony crap.

The LFC resurgence is eagerly anticipated, if only to restore some level of sanity to SCM
