Klavan

Klopp even said himself that people were writing Klavan off as a cover player,.

Wow, it's as if you've suddenly become incredibly naive.

What injuries created the need? .

From the Echo: "Liverpool are closing in on a £4.2million deal for FC Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan.
Signing a centre-back has been a priority for Jurgen Klopp following injuries to Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez, and the Reds boss has decided the experienced Estonia captain fits the bill".

BALLS! Klavan is a boss. He might be a bit slow and his distribution a bit skewed but he has the heart of a lion. I love the guy. When he threw himself in the way of a full bloodied Burnley drive that smacked him full on in the face (and would have certainly been a goal otherwise) He just got up, puffed his cheeks and carried on. We are fucking lucky to have him - Now bugger off all you Klavan haters. He's fucking ace. Maybe a 3rd choice ace..... But an ace all the same!

I'm being naive about a comment from the manager, but an article from the Echo is profound proof. Great stuff.

Sakho's future was already clouded, and Gomez had been a non-entity for the whole of last season and was a relative unknown in terms of first team quality, only a fool would have brought in an emergency signing because they'd been relying on those two. If Klopp really saw Sakho as quality, he'd have handled the surrounding issues differently to keep him - it was abundantly clear that he didn't want him. So why would he go into a season relying on him?

Like I say, we were going into the season with Matip and Lovren as the only recognised first team centre halves, it was a no brainer that we needed someone. Even if he is a cheap stop gap, he hasn't really been an improvement on the three departing centre backs. And he had fallen behind Lucas in the pecking order, which did cost us even more points.

What kind of retard would assume Klopp was going to rely on a player who was banned, injured and clearly not wanted, or a young unproven player who had played a grand total of 8 games for Liverpool and been injured for over a year?

Unless Klopp is a retard?
