read goddamit, you never do brendan, when he scored its usually struck at phenomenal pace right under the bar. as in the youtube clip, I've seen him do it a lot of times

if you can't understand btw, its a ratio pertaining to the amount of times he has scored, not the amount of shots he's taken.
I don't know about that ratio, but anywho he is scoring a lot of goals with his head as well. Apart from the odd Torres header we don't seem to ever score goals from headers anymore.

So we probably are in big need of a big, strong targetman who's good in the air.

I'm sure that if English was your first language, you wouldn't come across as someone ho knows very little about football.

i guess that means a lot coming from the master of coming across as not knowing anything about football.

Oh and KHL, i love his clattering never say die attitude when pursuing a header. I remember a goal from a corner where he took out the keeper going for the header, and then slotted in the ball as it fell to his feet. He played mighty well leading the line for that Danish team to qualification in a difficult group. Very well indeed.

(oh and brendan I'll explain it slower so you get it. Younger player usually do have finishing problems, but as he shows a tendency to be able to finish right underneath the crossbar. That is a very useful shot to have as he develops more and more it will leave a very impressive finisher when all is said and done; Wenger will be holding on to this gem)

Ah yes. The often coached "finishing under the crossbar" technique. Jesus fucking Christ.

Have to disagree with this. Finishing is an instinct set in from an early age . Fowler, Owen, Anelka to name a few as examples. All knew how to do it.

What about the "finsihing under the crossbar" technique?

No, cause no player has a specific shot they are better at then others.

@ sunny, I agree you can't teach a CB to become a prolific finisher but I think its a technique that gets honed and isn't so cut and dry as have or not. I know Walcott has become a much better finisher under Wenger tutelage and so has Torres under Benitez. He wasn't the phenomenal finisher that he is now at Athletico, no way; there only complaint (sometimes) was that he spurned too many of the opportunities he got himself onto.

I know I got much better at finishing in the last 2-3 years, I couldn't put it away from outside of the box with regularity before then. And awhile ago it took me tons of practice to be able to hit corners on instinct, for when the ball drops inside of the box.

Ahahahahahahahhaahaha!

*wipes away tears*

How's the finishing under the crossbar technique coming along? Cracked that yet, you hilarious buffoon?

Haha he's making it sound like some sort of finishing maneouver from Street Fighter.

Comedy genius, ass-boy.

Just cause you haven't watched him enough to notice it, you go on this whole parade. It's really sad people have indulged your terrorist like posting style for all these years. Cause you make sure to never have any significant content in your posts. Oh and I having played 17 years of footy and having scored a few goals at International youth tournaments can surely talk about my own experiences in the game.

If we're bringing in players like Kenwyne Clodhopper Jones and Niklas "Ego exceeds ability" Bendtner we're in fucking trouble.

Who am I kidding. We're already deep in the shit.

we are in deep shit, but some stats for fellow stat heads:

Kenwyne Jones for Sunderland:

started subs goals assists
English Carling Cup 4 0 1 3
English FA Cup 1 1 1 0
Premier League 71 7 23 13
Grand Total 76 8 25 16

Nicklas Bendtner for Arsenal:

started subs goals assists
English Carling Cup 3 3 3 1
English FA Cup 3 2 2 1
Premier League 28 39 15 6
UEFA Champions League 8 9 4 1
Grand Total 42 53 24 9

^stats from soccernet

So that's 24 goals in 95 apperances for Bentdner and 25 in 84 for Jones. Shite. I don't want them anywhere near our club.

are you kidding me. just when we could get almost 10m for babel you want to go and throw it away on one of those stupid shits. fucks sake. just give it to lucas as an improved contract who gives a shit anymore. hand it all over to him. gooooood for him. happy birthday lucas.

*throws millions of pounds of notes in the air*

happy birthday to you
happy birthday to you
happy birthday dear lucas
happy birthday to you!!

give me a fucking razor blade

Piechnik had a pretty awful debut I think but did pick up. He was never good enough though.

Kvarme looked ok but became poor beyond all belief. I have no idea but I wouldn't be surprised if he went on to have a reasonable career elsewhere
PSG had an injury crisis so they actually paid us a million for him, by which most of us at the time were pleasantly surprised. As far as I'm aware he did OK there and then for Sociedad (I think it was) in Spain.

i dont *really* want either. It just doesn't seem like we could get much better and we won't even splash the amount of cash it would take to get either. Kenwyne could be a good backup for Torres' lone striker role and might be ok with it considering his attitude (his strength, height and speed would be the reasons to get him). Bendtner is versatile, can score (you can't lump in sub appearences with starts like that), can create and has great bring down play.

But, Ultimately neither are good enough to start for us. I truly wish we had gotten Tevez this summer. He'd have helped immensely, and all he really wanted was to be wanted.

Of course you can. I just did. And we could never have afforded Tevez. We're so fucking skint.

Weren't we one of about 4 teams that had a bid accepted for Tevez?

Remember when Rafa said we might break our transfer record that summer? I'd love to know what he was thinking there.

He's only 21-years-old and has more often than not started on the wing in a Kuyt-esque role.

Those stats are not shabby at all.
