So let's see. Which of the boxes that we need ticking does Kenwyne?
Pace? Nope
Creativity? Nope
Width? Nope
and most importantly
Goals? Err nope.

I'm whelmed by this idea.

Sounds like a Rafas dream winger. Bring him on!!!

Fair to say I'm not that updated on Kenwyne, he looked sharp a couple a Seasons ago, but seems to have disappeared somehow from the limelight. So if we are to use Babel in a swap deal here's what should be done instead.

Offer him to Arsenal, I bet Wenger would love him there and probably turn him into a great player, and let us take Nik Bendtner of their books.

He can play everywhere along the frontline (wide, central and in the hole) and he'll score you a lot of goals too. Is a big, strong lad who's winning 9 out of 10 headers, can hold up play as well as well as hitting a good cross and create chances. Another ability of his, is his talent for leaving a man stranded. Something we miss dearly almost everywhere on the pitch, especially when we're without Torres and Gerrard. (Maxi, should he arrive, will give us more quality in that department mind).

He's not Bolt pacy I know, but he's no Kuyt either. He's got some pace to burn but it's not his main attribute.

The fact that's he's only just turning 22 will certainly not harm his potential to become a star-player. For us would be loverly.

*I know a lot of posters despise him (personality-wise mostly I reckon) but I still think he'd be a quality signing for us (or any other topclub for that matter). It'll probably never happen as Wenger seems to rate him a lot but should they go for someone older to lead their line we may have a chance offering Babel as leverage.

If there's one place Benitez wouldn't want Babel to go, it's Arsenal. That would have the potential to make him look very silly indeed.

Is Kenwyne Jones a better option than anything else we have as support or back up to Torres?
Sadly the answer is yes, but the deal won't happen, but I would be quite happy if it did

regards

You seem to really like Brendtner, Khl. Where's he from - Trinidad?

haha... You know, that I know, I'm biased, but that doesn't make it any less sound.

*Ok, maybe a bit, but not much.

**I've thought about the prospect of Agger, Kjaer and Bendtner playing for us, that would be almost like when Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard played for AC Milan.

When he's about 35 I reckon.

khl, how did you feel when we signed Torben Piechnik?
Luckily I can't remember, I was to occupied celebrating the EC victory at the time I reckon and chasing girls. (I was only 15 back then).

I hardly remember him play for us to be honest. Those days were all about Rush, Barnes, Fowler, McManaman, Mark Wright, Redknapp, Grobelaar and Houghton to me.

Piechnik's first few performances for us were actually quite good. It was after half a dozen games or so that he turned into a puppet with its strings cut.

Kvarme started off quite well too

That he did. We were something of a graveyard for previously well-regarded players, especially defenders, at that time and later under Uncle Roy.

Him I remember far to well.

I wouldn't mind Kenwyne as back up, it won't happen, though. He does seem to have that Caribbean laid back attitude, though.

Kvarme was incredibly one footed. I remember being at Anfield and watching him trying to clear the ball right footed even though it was to the left of him. He fell over as a result.

Piechnik had a pretty awful debut I think but did pick up. He was never good enough though.

Kvarme looked ok but became poor beyond all belief. I have no idea but I wouldn't be surprised if he went on to have a reasonable career elsewhere

When was the last time anyone gave Carvalho the runaround in a physical man-to-man duel?
don't worry KHL you're not alone, I like him too his bring down play is world class and would possible make Carraghers hoofs worthwhile sometimes. But it won't happen. Anyone who can finish the way he does (right under the top bar 90% of the time he scores) will be staying by Wenger's side for a long time to come. He would be an asset but he isn't available just like every other player Wenger doesnt want to sell he keeps them sewn up.

Seems to be a Norwegian problem. Johnny Riise's own goal springs to mind.

Anyone? Anyone at all?

read goddamit, you never do brendan, when he scored its usually struck at phenomenal pace right under the bar. as in the youtube clip, I've seen him do it a lot of times

if you can't understand btw, its a ratio pertaining to the amount of times he has scored, not the amount of shots he's taken.
