This Chinese bid just seems more focussed on PR than getting a deal done.

Why the fuck did Abu Dhabi not just buy us instead of some shite club like City.
[/quote]

because city wouldn't cost them 300+ million.

From Dave Usher (TLW) who usually knows what he's talking about:-

"Just a quick point on this. Just because we are paying ?10m a month, doesn't translate to ?120m a year as the extension was a six month one, and runs out in October. In that six month period, we are paying ?10m a month, meaning the debt will have risen by ?60m since April. It's already much more than the 237m being reported in the Telegraph today.

The agreement is there to force a sale (as well as for RBS to line their pockets of course), and although it looks like we're close to that happening, you have to be wary about the report by Mullock in the Sunday Mirror saying the owners will fight the sale in court. Mullock gets his info from the Hicks camp, so it tells you that they don't plan on going quietly.

It really is a f***ing scandal, I'm disappointed that more isn't being made of it by the press to be honest.

I'm hoping that SoS are looking into it and are preparing to get some kind of statement out, as they are in the best position to then get the national and local media on it.

If they aren't gone by October, God knows what will happen. If they get another deal like this one, or worse, we're genuinely, seriously f***ed."

It seems that G+H were refinanced in the summer by RBS on PIK loans at ?10million interest per month for six months,so by October it will have cost an extra ?60 million for us to have the privilege of them owning us

So we're even more fucked financially than we thought, the Chinese are meeting SOS and the Iranian bloke is buying the club this weekend?

Aces

He is Syrian but same shit.

I cling onto the hope that LFC is still a HUGE brand-name and maybe one day in the not so distant future we will be up there challenging but it seems like its a long way away at the moment.

The SOS thing frustrates me.

A bunch of nutters being the voice of LFC fans, making demands on the club and speaking to the important people who make the decisions around the club really hacks me off

Hahaha

Why the hell should Laurel and Harry meet the PL? Their positions are board memebers. If someone from our club were to meet the PL it should be Broughton? He has the competence to do it.

Sky Sports News understands that the consortium fronted by Yahya Kirdi expects to have signed an initial takeover deal with Liverpool by Sunday afternoon.

It emerged last week that the group of investors from the Middle East was interested in buying out Reds co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks and now it is reported that an agreement has been reached.

The consortium hopes that a first contract, which will not complete the takeover, will be signed before Liverpool kick-off their Premier League campaign against Arsenal on Sunday at Anfield, a game which can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 & HD1.

All parties - including Kirdi's group, Gillett and Hicks, and the Premier League, which now has tougher rules regarding the fit and proper person test - are said to be ready to gather before the weekend.

Sky Sports News has also reported that the consortium has agreed to pay off all of Liverpool's debts to The Royal Bank of Scotland and Wells Fargo, and that funds will be supplied to complete the planned construction of a new stadium in Stanley Park.
Correct decision

There has also been clarification of Canada-based Kirdi's financial position, with the former Syria international said to be 'well off' and not a billionaire as has been reported in the past.

Earlier on Monday Indian conglomerate Sahara Group, one of the parties expressing an interest in buying Liverpool, cooled their interest, while Chinese tycoon Kenny Huang has also made enquiries.

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton is overseeing the sale, being run by Barclays Capital, and is conscious of the need to make the correct decision when it comes to a change of ownership.

In July he stressed it was important to choose the most appropriate bid and not necessarily take the highest offer, at the same time confirming co-owners Hicks and Gillett could not block a sale to a particular party if it was deemed in the best interests of the club.

Broughton, managing director Christian Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre make up the other members of the board and can out-vote the co-owners if there is no consensus on the best candidate.

Hicks and Gillett are not inclined to support the bid by Huang, as he has insisted there will be no profit for the Americans in his calculations over what the club is worth.

I'm not really sure of the situation since I was away and didn't have internet access for a few days. I haven't really caught up on everything either.

Soooo, with that in mind, which bid do we want to be successful? If any.

I doubt many people have a clue about what is going on in terms of finances and long term benefit to the club and so bias towards one or the other will be based on little information and what litte we have received is then later disputed or remains unconfirmed.

I would say most people would want the Chinese bid as the Kirdi bid has been more acceptable to G & H, this in a sense has clouded most peoples judgement plus the possibility that the chinese fund is being backed by the Chinese Investment corp has got lots of people excited. Like the Chinese will somehow use their hard earned funds to buy LFC Kaka and Messi.

True. I don't really care where the owner is from. I'm keeping myself alert to the possibility that the Chinese guy may not be the right guy even if the press belives that, and the kirdi fellow may not be bad, even if H&G like him.

All i want is full disclosure.
So all stake-holders have an opportunity to review before the deal goes through

The important stake-holders as i see are,
1. Shareholders H&G (Their standing is similar to that of debtors. So i don't really care for them, but i want this whole process to go through smoothly. No back stabbing and end-less litigation.)
2. Board of Directors (They better know)
3. Debtors (Actually fuck them...as long as their money is paid, they don't probably care)
4. Premier League Board to over see fit and proper owners are appointed.
5. Fans (They don't have much say in the deal going through - but releasing the decision making rationale before the deal goes through, with supported evidence will be nice. Of course, there are things that can't be brought to public domain, and an assurance from the board in those cases would be nice.)

I would also like a disclosure on who voted in which direction, and who will be staying with the club after the deal goes through.

I actually think Ian Ayre and Christian Purslow are quite capable guys to hold a prominent role in the management team.

The Sahara Group, one of the parties expressing an interest in buying Liverpool, have cooled their interest.

They have taken a step back from the process, having previously looked into the prospect of launching a takeover of the Reds.

The group, headed by businessman Subrata Roy, are one of numerous parties believed to be in the running to remove George Gillett and Tom Hicks from Anfield.

However, the Indian conglomerate have opted against taking their interest any further at this juncture.

"The deal for acquisition of the LiverpoolFootball Club was in our consideration in the recent past," said head of corporate communications Abhijit Sarkar.

"However, after considering all related factors, we have decided not to go ahead with it, at least for the time being."

Chinese tycoon Kenny Huang and Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi have also been linked with possible takeover bids of late, although neither has struck a deal as yet.

So it's Syria Vs China in the Battle For Liverpool!

Starring a whole cast of PR-led, cash-poor, greedy charlatans, and lying cunts!
