Don't care about the money. Would you pay it for De Gea? Because that's the level we are talking about. World's Top 3 keeper.

I would be interesting to see if both Oblak and De Gea are amongst the top 3 if the team in front of them don't fucking park a bus for 90 minutes. I still think that is an advantage to many goalkeepers who play in such defensive teams.

De Gea makes unbelievable top saves whenever the opposition get through the defence or go for mid to long range shots. Which is why he’s highly rated. Obviously.

That stat on goals to shots saved still counts as much as ever though, doesn't it? Oblak is incredible in that stat.

One very simple answer to that. Watch them - and then you'll know you don't need to put them in an attacking team to know how good they are.

Utd have joined the queue for Oblak. Reports they see him as a direct replacement should Madrid come knocking for De Gea.

I just hope De Gea fucks off. If and when he does, United were always gonna move for Oblak.

Oblak is such a cool name. He sounds like the leader of a weird gang of baddies from a one-off episode of Blakes 7, who live in a quarry and worship an old crashed satellite.

"Take their weapons and bind them. Oblak will want to question these strangers immediately"
Thats made me think of those weird dump people from Walking dead. Bowl cut lady

Yeah, Oblak could easily be the name of the leader of the Morlocks from Wells' The Time Machine.

Pope rumours in the press today.

It has come to a point where a big name signing for the keeper position is unavoidable.

We went a whole season with the Ming/Karius debacle, which was briefly settled only for it to go full blown in our last game of the season.

If Klopp signs someone like Pope, regardless of his actual ability, the press and pundits will be criticizing the signing. Once the first cross is dropped that resulted in a goal, the pressure will build on the team, the keeper and Klopp and we will have a keeper "crisis" again and that will be all the press will talk about.

It inevitably builds up and we will need another keeper for the next season.

Unless Pope is god.

Real Madrid and Liverpool target Alisson Becker insists his future will not be resolved during the World Cup.
The Roma goalkeeper is wanted by both Champions League finalists and is adamant that speculation over his future will not affect his participation at the World Cup in Russia. The Brazil international suggested that his future could be sorted out this week.
“What I want is for it to be resolved before the World Cup. To be honest, I left the responsibility of all of the negotiations with my representative. If it is not resolved before the first match, it will only be after the World Cup. My thoughts are 100% here,” he is quoted as saying in AS.
“Offers? We have some possibilities, we are working on all of them, alongside Roma, respecting the club. Let’s see if something during happens this week.”
