Am I being thick? Why should he apologise before the ref has submitted his report?

If you've done something stupid and know it, you shouldn't wait for someone to tell you. Apologising is the very least he can do.

Also waiting for officialdom looks like you're trying to avoid the consequences of your actions. It also makes the club look weak if nothing was forthcoming as surely they must have insisted he acknowledges his error in the most public way possible.

But the biting is a bit cro magnon.

There is something very unsettling about a grown man biting people out of frustration, whatever the result of this I would suggest the club seriously need to look at getting him into counseling

I'm aware of all this, I mean in terms of a forthcoming ban, the ref should submit his report before any apology is forthcoming. He could have just come out and gave a load of grass chewing bollocks excuses and said it was misinterpreted but apologises for any upset, blah blah, instead we're the ones holding our hands up (again!) saying "it's a fair cop" with our white flags. We may aswell email the FA now asking for them to rush through the paperwork.

I agree Luis has put us in a difficult spot again, but anyway.

You really think he should have said that? "I am sorry that Ivanovic was offended by my bite..."???

Quick response and apology. We've handled this pretty well.

Have we though? From a PR point of view, yes. Once again though we're being soft touch apologists before we've even been collared. United would have come out and laid into everyone and every incident in retaliation.

How was the Holy Land?

Btw, Luis has mellowed quite a bit since he moved here ... Compared to the '1st bite,' today was NOTHING!

Odd to see Bakkal's reaction afterward ... very odd ...

I loved it! Great food, great weather, nice people (I met Jimmy btw) and interesting places. Haifa was ok (didn't have time to see much though, The Dead Sea was nice, Jerusalem a bit over the top when there but now a week later the experience has sunk in and Tel Aviv was very cool. Hopefully I'll get the chance to go to Israel again. The only let down was the Liverpool coverage againt Reading.

And oh! Suarez is still boss.

You've got to love Souness, having a go at Luis, let the club down especially given the timing of the Hillsborough anniversary blah blah blah. The same Souness who sold his story to The Lying Rag.

Quite. And then there's the floppy haired sick note twat sat next to him who's opening lines at full time were:

"He got a seven match ban at Ajax, so he should get the same here".

Fuck off you talentless, boring David Beckham-wannabe twat.

I'm guessing we've talked to the ref and know whats coming.
The journos are loving this though. He'll be sold, a shame and should be banned for 10 games yadda yadda yadda.
Bunch of cunts

That's a bit harsh imo. I always liked Jamie 'The Crab' Redknapp. He still seems pretty complimentary on all things LFC these days.

Jose Mourinio says it's just a ghost bite, because Suarez hasn't really crossed the line with his actions

I think the club have done the right thing.

There's no 'fair cop' or dispute about what's happened.

It's never hasty to do the right thing, waiting for officials to tell you've done something wrong is likely to be seen as being unrepentant and increase the severity of the punishment.

Must be like his very own ghost eye gouge of the Barcelona manager a couple of years ago.

CBA reading 11 pages. I'd imagine a lot, or all, of this has been covered but;

1. I love watching him, and I like his winning streak.
2. That was fucking batshit crazy, especially after having this shit already in his career.
3. If he gets a ban for that then I'd be massively docking his wages.
4. At what point does this threaten sponsors?
5. If we do keep him, is it just going to be a yearly thing that we'll have to assume he'll do something stupid to bring more negative press and a ban?
6. This is tiresome already, imagine it tomorrow after the papers, or once ginsoak has got one of his stooges to go off on a tirade about it.

The usual one-eyed bollocks on here then.

So tell me, what would you have said had it been the other way around and a Chelsea player had bitten one of our players?

You'd all be banging on about how "entertaining" it was wouldn't you?

Ffs Ryan, most people have said it's indefensible. A few haven't. Very very few.

Far from 'the usual bollocks on here then'.

I don't think anyone is trying to defend it.

Ironically, Ryan's post is probably the first bit of "bollocks" I've seen in this thread.

Also, to the 14 cunts that voted "yes", go fuck yourselves.

football is full on complete cunts be it players, owners, supporters, agents, managers, media etc. yes Saurez is a nasty piece of work on the pitch but he's a fucking genius as well.

Again he'l have to accept his ban and hopefully come back a better player for it. If we won't get back near the top we need world class players and its not often a Saurez comes along so we need to keep him.

The vast majority of Liverpool fans are disgusted with Suarez.
