Does everyone think Diouf spitting was OK then ?

SPITTING, you say? No, no, NO! Biting, yes, permitted, if the other man's a foreigner. Eye gouging? Yes, if he's a Frenchman. Mild knifing? Yes, cold and quick, if a German. But SPITTING??? Barbaric!!!

If he's anything like a man he'd apologize to Ivanovic, his Manager, team mates and employer.

If I was owner I'd insist on it. The Club must show itself responsible for it's employees actions.

I'd agree with that if all clubs did the same for the far nastier things which go on each week.

I'm sick of defending him if I'm honest, genius footballer, but has psychopathic tendencies. He's on the wrong side of the fine line for me.

I was just about to write that hopefully the FA will show some common sense here. But, there is no way that will happen. Cue them giving him a longer ban than Terry got for rascism.
Which in itself is mad.

7-10 game ban for biting a player...hell no. I don't think he'll receive a lengthy ban at all.
You have to use common sense.
It's never OK to spit on someone or bite someone. But how about punching someone on the pitch? Stamping on someone?

There's no real damage is there compared to other offences?
It's not like it was a AIDS ridden junkie.

He deserves to get punished but we need some common sense in this thread. I don't believe the FA will deem it to be that severe.

And missing 6-8 games a year as a key player doesn't make him a liability ? He needs to grow up. This one is out if order and there's no defence IMO
I totally agree with all that. But surely missing 6-8 games a season is better than not having him at all?

It wasn't directed at you in particular.
Just seen a few people say that some people were condoning it.

It's just more hassle, more embarrassment and more unwarranted attention. He's an amazing player but you just can't go round eating people. I defended him in the Evra thing because I believed the evidence against him to be flimsy and from the mouth of a despicable gobshite. This I cannot defend. He actually pulled his arm towards him to take a bite. It's animalistic and on comparison with spitting. He's brilliant but a complete loon

Suarez and the club can do themselves a lot of good if they act quickly, make their apologies and instigate their own disciplinary rules.

Waiting to see what the FA might do is the last thing they should concern themselves with.

No one is defending him. I do believe everyone here is a bit appalled but the talk is about how appalling it was. Some compare it to Hannibal Lector others compare it to "Charlie bit my finger".

And biting along with spitting is a dirty shithouse trick. I'd knock his fucking teeth out if he did that to me (if I was hard).

By the way suggesting we sell a player for indiscipline is disproportionate. That's not dealing with the problem it's running away from it.

Also we bought him when we knew he was already flawed and had done this before.

6 game ban I reckon.

I doubt it, he was warned about his future conduct after the incident where he gave the Fulham fans the bird, I think he will get 7or 8 games, and somebody mentioned in the match thread he now has 10 yellows for the season. Will he automatically get a 2 match ban for that anyway

It might be for the best to just send him on his summer holidays now, accept whatever ban is handed out and remove him from the spotlight completely its unlikely he will play again this season anyway

As I say, genius but a liability. Which one weighs in more though ?

The 10 yellows doesnt count now, its gone over to 15 now. That was after the Reading game.
Twice the length of Terrys rasicsm ban?? Are people mad?

He did bite him right? Or did something else happen aswell??

I think people might be basing that on his last ban for biting which was 7 matches in Holland, but then Defoe got a yellow for the same. It'll be somewhere inbetween.

He got 7 games for the same thing in Holland, and hes on thin ice with the FA here, I think he will be lucky to keep it down to single digits. Im not saying thats correct but I think thats what will happen.

I mean how does he possibly go about contesting it, the tape shows him clearly attempting to bite Ivanovic, whats worse hes done the exact same thing before so he cant even claim its out of character

It will all hinge on whether the ref saw it. The ref saw Defoes. I havent. Was it comparable.
