All this self righteous vilification of Suarez really gets on my tits when the press deifies Mourinho who nearly blinded a Barcelona coach deliberately by poking him in the eye.Double standards you betcha.

Not small change even to a footy player.

They're clearly trying to get in front of the fa discipline panel, it's a good thing, Tbf, despite the stick Ayre gets (from me too) the club have handled this well.

Fair enough, we got in there with an apology and a fine. If he gets a ban it'll probably be the equivalent ban to a red card now on the grounds the ref didn't see it, if he gets one.

He deserves a three match ban, it was violent conduct, but no one was hurt, so it should be the three match ban hed have got if it was seen.

Defoe got a yellow card for biting, and that was the last that was said of it. Suarez looked like he attempted to bite Ivanovic, not leaving a mark, so I'm not sure if he actually got a bite on him, so I'm not sure on what grounds the FA would have to ban him considering the precedent set with Defoe.
I think a fair punishment is maybe some sort of community order from the FA, and that we as a club ban him ourselves from playing until next season. We've fuck all to play for anyways.
Biting is obviously wrong, but there's players going in studs up and two footed every week, that could actually end another players career, and that gets a 3game ban? And don't forget kicking a ball at a player can 'kill a man'....

Apart from that time in the World Cup, has Suarez actually been sent off many times? Or at all, even?

You'd think that, given everyone knows that he is a mentalist, he would be watched like a hawk and not get away with anything on the field, yet he always seems to get in trouble afterwards

I'm gobsmacked by the people who want a 7-10 match ban. Its insane.
I'm sure its going to happen though. After the Evra punishment, and the Ajax ban, we know Luis won't get a hand-slapping. Personally, I disagree with comparing this to a bad tackle. That happens in the game - this shouldn't.
No way I'd sell though - especially when teams use this as a reasoning for only offering 40m. Luis is our most exciting player in a generation. Anfield would be a drabber place without him.

Guys, I am pretty sure the media were all over Cantona, Keane, Rooney, Terry... etc as well.
But where any of them sold on the back of those incidents? Were they fuck?

I've no problem with the media being all over it. But trying to force us to get rid is fucking appalling.

It's good that the Hillsborough families get the money, but it's a bit odd when the one being fined says where it should go. I'm going to try and get the money sent to the same cause the next time Santander fine me for a late payment.

Seems a bit mad that. The money was going to go to charity anyway (don't all premiership fines?), so why not send it to a good one?

Yeah, there's it was to help his pr, but regardless, it's 300k luv, that pays for a shitload of legal advice to dissect the forthcoming information & challenge any lies or undisclosed material.

Sheila Coleman ‏@SheilaColeman96 Suarez to make donation to Hillsborough families! Ian Ayre/LFC disgraceful to use Hillsborough in this way.#exploitation.

Probably pissed off at the nature of how the fine came about but if Suarez is being truly contrite here I think using the word "exploitation" is a bit over the top.

Did Ayre/LFC force him to choose Hillsborough or did Suarez request it ? This all seems a bit of a weird reaction to me.
