He is a fucking prick, his tactics are shite and his selections are shite.

He played all the promising kids in one league cup game and dropped the fucking lot of them since, doing wonders for there confidence.

He promised to let the players shine, but has them all playing like they have never seen a ball, let alone pass one.

He is 100% not a Liverpool quality manager, and probably by today, barring a miracle, we will see Liverpool FC occupying one of the 3 bottom relegation slots in October for the first time in living memory.

Yeah I slagged Rafa off, after a few years in the job and it being clear that domestically we were going fucking nowhere, this guy hasn't had ten minutes.

I called it in my post, I said we're playing 'shit', people just pigeon hole it as defensive when you can't string two passes together. The line-ups haven't always suggested we're playing defensively, the lineup at Old Trafford was more or less what EVERYONE wanted, the line up against City was 442 with two strikers, Neil just seems to be bandying around this notion that our wide players (particularly in this case Jovanovic, and often the same is said for Babel too) are the victims of being asked to defend. No they're just fucking shit wide players.
 
I don't believe we're either an attacking or a defensive team at the moment, and to be truthful such discussion is almost irrelevant because if a side cannot pass the football, either to maintain possession or to put the opposition on the back foot with purposeful passing, then they're a non-entity of a football side. The gross amount of basic errors have so far ensured there's no structure to our play, leaving it impossible to impose any sort of game plan on the opposition. They've almost rendered any sort of tactical discussion completely null and void.

And if you can't keep possession, you sure as hell better be good at either a) winning it back and b) have a strong, organised defence which can cope with invited pressure. Problem is, we're terrible at winning it back, because our CM lacks pace, tenacity and height - whereas our defence cannot cope with any sort of aerial threat, which leads to us shipping goals at the back.

Suggesting that we're an attacking or defensive side implies that Hodgson has some control about how his team are playing. I don't think he has. I'm afraid instead of 'steadying the ship', we're in fact lost at sea.

Well yeah, I don't think it was a 'yes' man though, I think it was about keeping things sound financially and (allegedly) steadying the ship, a short-term appointment until the club was sorted one way or another. Despite the fact pretty much no one wanted him or thought he would be good enough, you could at least see the logic in appointing a manager who had recently proven himself to be decent in getting the best out of a squad without having much money to throw at it.
 
Budgie's a defensive, cautious coach.

Anyone who has ever watched his teams play would know that.

Sadly, as well as being defensive and cautious, he's also mediocre, laughably out of his depth and a fucking *loser*

Thats plainly obvious Brendan, he is a short term manager who was supposed to keep things ticking over, unfortunatly he has stalled the engine and the ticking over has stopped.

Lets hope he's a member of the AA and can fucking get it started again, before too much damage is done.

Pepe has won the Golden Gloves 90% of the years he's played for us. IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FUCK WITH IT!

Why the fuck would he want to change that, he's been the best keeper in the Prem doing exactly what he's been doing??

And your last point is utter nonsense... "Miracle" my arse. You know what would be a miracle? If some of Rafa's biggest defenders here didn't act like the shite we're currently watching is any worse than much of the past few years. And it's his fault that these players play like this - You can't change three years of defensive tendencies drilled into you by the previous manager in two months.

He has also moved away from the zonal stuff which we have used for 6 years plus, and is now employing a man-to-man system. That cannot be instilled in the players in a matter of weeks, especially as most were away until about a week before the season started. It is no surprise we are shipping goals for fun.
 
Not having many players who can head the ball is also a massive factor.
 
My beef isn't that people are moaning about the shite we're seeing...

It's that, after staunchly defending Rafa until the bitter end, some posters are crucifying Roy for putting us through the exacte same shite that is mostly due to our players being used to playing the 'Rafa' way in the first place.
 
The team are playing exactly the same as they did last year, just in a different formation. The seeds have been planted over the last 5 years and we are now reaping the rewards.
