There's a completely different task lying ahead at Liverpool and the mere thought of us going back to an even more defensive-minded approach - which is the style of Mourinho lest you forgot - makes the scenario of him at Anfield even more intimidating in my opinion.

I didn't forget. I don't give a merry fuck what his "style" is, I just want the title.

I certainly don't expect him to "reinvent football". Which apparently we did last season anyway.
Don't recall saying the first bit but I agree obviously. Can I choose however on beforehand I'd definitely take the more attacking-mindede approach for one.

We were looking awesome last Season in Spring. You can shove it in my face all you care - we looked awesome and I felt awesome about it too.

Haha it's funny innit.

Now some whoppers say they don't want maureen coz he's too defensive.

Haha. Like we've been playing champagne football and buying new wooden trophy cabinets year after year.
...and that's exactly why I do not want Rafa Mach II to be installed should the first one leave.

Paulo Ferreira £8m
Asier Del Horno £13m
Shaun Wright-Phillips £21m
Salomon Kalou £9m
Khalid Boulahrouz £7m
Andrei Shevchenko £30m
Kezman £6m
Tiago £10m

Whats your next stupid fucking question?

He won a title with Ferreira at full-back, ditto Del Horno (who was about £5m cheaper than you quoted), and Tiago was also virtually an ever present in a title-winning side. SWP also won a title there.

Kalou is still there, and he never bought Shevchenko, Abramovich did.

See, that's kind of the point. You label certain players as "flops" or examples of how he wasted money, but he still won titles with most of those players.

I'm not claiming he is beyond repraoch in the transfer market, I've just pointed out that the most expensive signing wasn't wanted by Mourinho, and he won two titles with the majority of the other "flops".

I'll take that thanks.

for me the bottom line for jose joining is;

he would definately be able to motivate the squad more than rafa but would that motivation be enough to make liverpool champions because unlike chelsea he wouldn't be able to draw on vast sums of money to radically improve the squad.

Rafa needs to go. He is not firing up our team, nor pick his line-up or tactics very well either. He gets zip and nada out of good players!!! He has to be history, it is as easy as that.

So the question is if we should have the balls to go for unexperienced tough blood that can bread this club his own way or we should safe it with a guy like Jose (if he takes the challenge). I think the brave move is more inspiring and interesting to watch.. However if any "old" fart was going to make the blood rush a little bit again in thè Liverpool fans bodies Jose should be top of the list. Psycopatic poor looser.. But he will push buttons around. he will provoke. He will make the club interesting again both to media and to other fans. He will make an inmpact whatever he does.

You are conveniently overlooking the fact that he had around £150M more to spend as well why all his bad signings wouldn't have had the same influence as they would've with us.

Had it been on our budget he'd be without the majority of the likes of Carvalho, Cech, Ashley Cole, Essien, Robben, Mikel, Malouda, Drogba and Ballack.

How'd you reckon they had fared then?

I don't even know what this means.

We just know we're sick of being shit and we're desperate for something to change.

There are no guarantees on anything.

Before cracking jokes about the 'JCDNW club'; perhaps you'd consider what kind of desperation is needed that would make us so eager to want him here.

You may not care if we stay in this abyss as long as Rafa stays, but I for one do.

Just a few points:

All i did was question why posters think JM would win us the title + To point out that he has not got the best out all of his players (like people on here think)

You'd be spewing if we'd signed those players i've mentioned Bren.

Unfortunately we don't have Abramovich millions to cover our mangers mistakes though do we?.

Who cares how we play? We've not won the league since the back pass rule was introduced. We used to go 1-0 up and give it to bruce. Hardly champagne football either. Difference was we had a great team who could all produce something.

Del Horno, SWP and Thiago are all better players than the ones we have in their positions currently, and Kezman and Kalou are better than anything we have as back-up for Torres.

I think rijkaard is a good choice as;

*he took over an underachieveing side
*made them hard to beat with purchases like davids
*was able to motivate wildcards like eto'o (who he took a risk on as madrid wanted rid)
*blooded youth (alright that youth was world class but he still played them when they were at the developement stage)
*played in a style that befited a club of barca's stature
*won shit

I know. I often wonder where some of these blerts get all this "Liverpool Way" and "attacking football" shit from.

Was it that one season under Kenny in 1988?

Because before that we were quite happy boring the tits off everyone, and kicking people ten feet in the air as long as it meant winning trophies.

I don't think that's necessarily true. When Chelsea did get rich there was an aspect of just going out and throwing money at anything but if my memory serves me correctly when Mourinho showed up he came out and said that he wanted the squad to be a certain size. They didn't just buy players for the sake of it or buy superstars - at least until Shevchenko arrived that is.

Yes they spent a lot on money but they had to. Everyone knew they were rich so when they came knocking the prices rose. Players do not have an RRP. Clubs get as much as they can. If we had gone in for say Drogba or Carvalho at the time would we have had to pay as much? I doubt it.

Oh and Cech and Robben were not massively expensive anyway and Ballack and Cole were essentially Bosman signings weren't they?

I think those Bosmans were mighty expensive mate. Sign-on fees closing in on £10M at least in Ballacks case were rumoured at the time.

Chelsea had all the money in the world and they spend a lot of them on players. Some great, some good, some decent, some awful but in the end it didn't really matter as they had so many to choose from. Mourinho deserves credit of course but most managers could've won Chelsea the trophy with that squad.

Ranieri had just brought in the likes of Lampard, Cole, Terry and Makelele when the Portuguese took over didn't he?

Even Glock could've taken Chelsea all the way.

And since Mourinho left Chelsea have won a grand total of ONE trophy. The FA cup. With ostensibly the same squad.

So, not for the first time, you're talking fucking shit.

N'Gog is better than Kezman or Kalou. Yes that's right. Piss off.
Where's the mighty Kezman playing today? Actually don't mind answering as he only managed to score four goals with Chelsea. Ngog is already better than that and he's arguably playing in a less good team.

And Kalou as a striker? Yeah....

He has after all scored ZERO goals in the league this Season... and 7 goals in his all-time best Season for them.

And as he was only four times as expensive as Ngog I can see where you are coming from.

Or not really.

No. Lampard signed in about 2001 and Terry has always been there I believe.

Cole came in 2003 but he only cost about 6 million

Ranieri which I reckon is one of the worst top-managers outthere came close enough. And even so withouth the likes of Drogba, Robben, Carvalho, Cech, Cole, Ballack, Mikel and Essien.

Of course he would've won it too had he got the same material to work with.
