People didn't hate Shanks as it happens (he was proof that you can be successful and a strong character without becoming a Ferguson-style bully) but I agree with the overall point. Winning was always a major priority for "the Liverpool way" and still should be.

I wouldn't know in fairness like so point accepted. I just thought the comments like closing the blinds if Everton were playing in his garden, 2 great teams in Liverpool and maybe others I haven't heard or forgot wouldn't endear him to many people.
Mourinho isn't Shankly, obviously, but he does say things to deflect attention from the team at times and is a very confident, outspoken individual.
A lot of people dislike Mourinho if he isn't their manager. I thought maybe the same was the case for Shankly. Massive assumption of course.
