You pay your money to go to
Anfield and watch a match. You get to shout and cheer and sing if you want to.
You are a supporter and you are there to do these things if you want.

Rafa likes to remain detatched from the emotion so he can stay focused. I prefer that than watching Mourhino running up the OT touchline.

His control can be read (maybe misread) as coldness. A little bit of passion shows everybody know where they stand, whether its because you are delighted or disappointed with your players.

I find it extraordinary that Rafa has never had harsh words with Babel. His detachment is to a degree that it blocks his ability to have a personal impact on his players.

I think the very best managers should be able to play both roles; to use both the personal touch and steel fist as needed.

But the objective is to use whatever it takes to win.

I understand your point, but I think a manager needs to be invested emotionally, & that the players need to see that too.

As much Martin O'Neill pisses me off, his passion when watching Villa is admirable, & very rarely do I watch that without a hint of jealousy.

It's fortunate if one has lived through the glory years of LFC, because then, with football as a real sport fast fading away thanks to over-commercialisation, over-indulged players and grotesque witlessness engendered via forums and phone-ins, it won't take more than a nudge to block out the whole soulless circus once and for all and get on with life. Even more success will be tainted, increasingly, these days. The only thing that keeps me enduring all of the rest of it is the personal allegiance to one special club. But when this club has more and more fans who are quite happy to claim some kind of moral superiority over the rest by citing 'The Liverpool Way,' 'YNWA and Shanks's simple socialism, whilst begging for the kind of over-hyped egomaniac whom even Brian Clough would have found sick-making, well, the humbug is laughable. I just wish those left would get a bit of honesty and start laminating their SOS prayer books.

Just saying on Sunday Supplement that its reckoned that Mancini wont be at Citeh after the summer. Guy was about 90% certain of this, he said.

All of this points to Jose. Shit

The thought of that prick Mourinho managing us makes me feel ill.

The thought of your next lame defending of Lucas is far, far worse.

I think they would have gone for someone else if they wanted to replace Mancini after 6 months.

I'm not convinced. It's the middle of the season, so if they think they have a shot of getting someone like Mourinho in the summer, it'd pay to get a temporary solution.

That said, the whole Mancini thing has been a little weird as it was initially reported that he was there till the end of the season and then it was said that he has a long contract. I suppose that it'll have performance related clauses and options for them to bin him off at the end of this season.

Maybe they're also working hard on ensuring Jose also gets another classy Sky talent show like the one he's fronting at the moment.

I'd be slightly surprised if Mourinho went to City. I know he loves English football, but City are just a Chelsea MKII and he's already been there, done that. He owes it to himself to stay at proper football clubs, instead of becoming immersed in the idea of winning trophies for plastic clubs.

I reckon he'll stick to the clubs with the strongest teams and/or with a lot of money to spend.
Why risk ruining a good thing.
He could go to Man U, otherwise it's only really City that's suitable for him.

You have too high an estimation of Jose if you think he will do it for love.

Not love.

I'm suggesting he could manage some more prestigious clubs who also have money.

Barce, Madrid, etc.

But do they want him?

At the moment, no, but he's in no real rush to leave Inter. They won't sack him.

Jose's only interest is in furthering his reputation. If he feels he can do that at Citeh, then that's what he'll do.
