A talented CM who is captain of the national U-21 team, can do most of those things pretty well and hasn't been with us a full year yet. One of the things we used to do at LFC in the glory days is give players a proper chance to settle in. Returning to that is long overdue.

I think that's the main issue. He's a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. And it's not that no one is giving him a chance, it's just that this is a thread about Jordan Henderson, so people are offering their thoughts (so far) on him. I don't think he's been that impressive, but that doesn't mean I don't support him, or hope that he does well. I'd cheer for him like I'd cheer for any of our other players.

A talented CM is meant to have more than 1 assist and 1 goal after 20 matches. I know that he's young but that doesn't alter the fact that he doesn't do / isn't good enough now.

I'm giving him time and I'm all for talented, it's just that I want to know what I can expect in the future, what I should look out for. I hope he does well, as I do for every LFC-player.

Henderson is a decent enough player that's improving. He'll be some player in the future. He is just not yet ready to start as a first teamer and has some way to go yet.

Kenny rushing him isn't helping the team. He should be used sparingly and given game time as a sub.

Sorry to drag up an old topic but this henderson thing is really starting to do my head in . I can't for the life of me understand why so many of you are happy with his signing and think he is doing well , deserves a starting place in the team etc .

Yeah he might be a neat and tidy footballer but overall he offers so little . Maybe doesn't have complete 'mares but he just doesn't do anything really decent either , there's just no point to him . I really do hope he becomes the player so many of you believe he will but right now he's not the quality we should want .

I never expected Henderson to improve the team, unlike the rest of the players he looks arsed and that's the only positive sign I can find.

I'm not saying that he was worth the fee we paid.

He didn't stop running or making himself available yesterday. And he was a damn sight better than Charlie Adam.

I agree. Shelvey should be ahead of him at the moment. He's got potential and good technique, even though he has the weirdest way of running I've seen for quite a while, but he needs taking out of the team for a while. It shows yet again the problem all teams have these days now that the reserve set up is so youth-oriented - no first team player has anywhere to go to regain any confidence. In Paisley's day these players would disappear into the ressies for a year or more and then emerge ready to slot into the first team. Now they turn the first team into their own private finishing school.

Some are saying that Adam is Kenny's favourite. I'd like to think that Kenny was thinking of Adam in that post match interview.

Yep. I don't think he should be starting every game the way he is, and Shelvey could do with his share of playing time too, but he looks a good prospect and he was a lot better than Adam, who was poor yesterday and has been since Lucas dropped out the side.

I think he will be a solid player after a good pre-season behind him where they work with him on physical attributes so that he is able to express himself better on the pitch.

I'm not too worried by him.

But as Spidey said elsewhere, and Oncy above has said...i would like a DM with good technical ability who is also a powerful athelete. Our CM is kinda powderpuff....

I don't know who that players is. Of course, we also need a forward....if we address either one these issues...ill be happy.

I'm not a very spiritual man but do you think if we sacrificed one of Carroll, Adam, Henderson or Downing to the gods on the halfway line before the Citeh match on Wednesday that we might do a bit better? I'm thinking that other squad members could take it in turns to slice pieces of whoever it was, like those inventive Chinese chaps used to.
