That can't be right? Christ that's ridiculous.

Anyway, my favourite ever Liverpool player, and one of the best 3 players to ever play for us.

Watch this. He was fucking sublime.

Feck me 50?

I'll salute Digger tonight with a fine bottle of wine. My favourite all time player as well.

Happy Birthday Digger!

BTW, he'll be in South Africa with the Liverpool legends team soon. They're playing against Kaizer Chiefs (not the band!) legends next Saturday in Durban.

Article from local football website:

The Kaizer Chiefs and Liverpool squads have been confirmed for the legends clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium on November 16.
Chiefs will be able to call upon some of the top names in their history such as ex-playmaker Doctor Khumalo, defender Lucas Radebe, midfield maestro John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu and Afcon-winning captain Neil Tovey.

For Liverpool, the likes of former Kop favorite and England international John Barnes, twin strike sensations John Aldridge and Robbie Fowler are just some of the top names set for the match.

Kaizer Chiefs Legends: Doctor Khumalo, Lucas Radebe, Brian Baloyi, Gary Bailey, Rudolph Seale, Cyril Nzama (Team Manager), Frank Makua, Donald Khuse, Arthur Zwane, Shane MacGregor, Abel Shongwe, Neil Tovey, Shoes Moshoeu, Fani Madida, Shaun Bartlett, Wellington Manyathi.
Management and Ambassadors: Jeff Butler, Ryder Mofokeng, Teenage Dladla, Sam Motaung.

Liverpool Legends: Bruce Grobbelaar, Mark Wright, Michael Thomas, Jason Mcateer, Rob Jones, Phil Neal, Alan Kennedy, Jan Molby, Dietmar Hamann, John Barnes, Gary Mcallister, Steve Mcmananan, David Fairclough, Robbie Fowler, John Aldridge, Phil Thompson, Roy Evans, Ian Callaghan.

One of my favourite players ever.

Such a class act, on and off the pitch.

Built like a rhino but the balance of a ballerina.
A true genius with whom most of my favorite memories compose of.
Would be worth at least 60 million in today's market.
God i'd love if he was 25 again just to see him glide over the Anfield turf again.

He was my fave player. The John Barnes story video was played hundreds of times

Some of his goals for Watford as a kid were amazing.

It will always be a major waste that England never used him properly.

True genius. Still better passer than most players today even when fat as a pig.
