Traore and Itandje weren't even African, were they? Or did Traore give up on being French at some point when he realised he was shit?

Back to Matip for a sec, are we happy with this? No such thing as a free transfer but is anyone opposing this deal?

General view seems positive. I've heard one or two comments on the radio from people who make a living reporting on European football and they reckon it's a good move.

@Piedro is usually good at this, so is @Aidan O' Neill

Right lads, did Titi Camara score a cracker against Leeds?

Found the West Ham game on his wiki.

Camara is best remembered for playing at Anfield against West Ham in October 1999, the morning after the death of his father, scoring the winning goal and then dropping to his knees in front of the Anfield Road stand with tears flowing

I guess it doesn't matter but there's quite a pronounced black/white ethnic divide at the club in terms of informal groups. You usually see Studge, Benteke, Sakho, Ibe, Origi and Kolo together, the Brazilians together and the white English guys together. Quite natural I guess, but a teensy bit of a pity there's not more of a mix there just for squad solidarity. At least Matip will have a ready-made clique to cling to.

One Scouser lady whom I know here in the Midlands has a brother who's a season ticket holder. He's told her he heard this started when Balotelli was there and the black players began to congregate around him.

Yeah I was at the game. I can't remember it being a "cracker" but I'm quite sure it was a decent finish from a tight angle. I sat with my brother amongst the home fans and my lasting memories were of how jealous their fans were of Camara and particularly of Jamie Redknapp. My other memory is of Darren Huckerby running offside about 800 times, he just looked as if he didn't understand the offside rule and the Leeds fans hated him for it.

Blimey. I've been debating with myself whether it matters at all. I guess it's not that different from the 'Jocks' club' that was evident when Kenny, Souey, Hansen and Nicol were around, but, I don't know, it seems more noticeable after Houllier made such a big thing of combating such cliques in the club.

I've noticed this too, and not just at Liverpool. In fact it's not just a football issue, but anyway. With the Brazilians/ Spanish there is at least the language/ culture excuse

And there's also the depressing musical cliches. Sturridge and co. love r&b and hiphop. Gerrard likes Phil Collins. What does Coutinho like? The Macarena? *yawnerama*

He scored a right rascal against Coventry I think.

I'll try and find it.

That cleared it all up. He scores a nice goal against Leeds there towards the end of the vid too. The goal he scored in the green kit was against Arsenal.

It's natural, some just might have more in common with each other, music etc.
